Rockstar actually did put an anticheat, but removed it entirely cuz the modders 1000 steps ahead of R* modifying the game engine.
lol i know what it is, and knowing isn't required for the purpose we're trying to achieve, so stop gatekeeping you smug lil karen assea :)
its totally legit that we should have zero cheaters in the multiplayer.. theyve had 11 years to fix it since release in 2013..
Also when it comes down to it, their product isn't really safe to play online. Two serious RCE exploits in under two years. Best thing you could ever do is drop this game, walk away from it and never look back at Rockstar games again.
Why this community hasn't collectively slapped Rockstar with a lawsuit is mind boggling.
For one thing, when cheaters drop money on people, it lets them buy something, which acts like a reward, then they want more so they buy a shark card (just like a drug dealer giving free drugs to get people hooked and buying more - This is also why Rockstar randomly gives people free in-game currency)
There's also a certain percentage of cheaters who are dumb and buy a new copy of the game when they get banned. (and they only get banned by using a cheat they buy - likely sold by the developers themselves) - This serves the added bonus of keeping sales of the game artificially high year after year. Any time they need more sales they just toss out a ban wave. (This also convinces other idiots that the devs are trying to combat cheating, thus they are more likely to buy shark cards)
Being cheater friendly with the illusion of anti-cheat lets them reach a larger potential market as they cater to both the cheater and the honest player at the same time. They also know the cheaters are never going to put more money into the game via shark cards, and if they were actually banned they become less likely to purchase the next game.
You sir, are on the path to enlightenment.
