GTA V using Shared System Memory instead of Dedicated Video Memory
This game is hell. It had been using my normal 768MB of dedicated video memory and worked just fine, now after the recent summer update, it began using my shared system memory, which is 3456MB or smth. The more I play the game the more it runs into stuttering and freezes, until it becomes unplayable and I have to close it down. A lot of people are apparently facing this issue, but some got it before the summer update so I wonder if it really is that. I've been able to fix every issue I had with my games, until now. I'm starting to become desperate, any ideas?

I'm sure that's not the issue, it wasn't like this before. I have 8GB of RAM.

Yeah it sucks for all of us, but the problem is on rockstar's side and all we can do is wait

This problem is also happening to me, the game starts to consume almost 8gb of RAM and the video memory has increased from 1gb to 4gb after dlc.

same problem here, i got 16 gb of ddr4 ram at 3200 speed plus rx580 with 8gb of vram. the game is using more and more ram and vram until it freezes for good. no idea how to fix it. literaly unplayable. seems like the problem is not related to ram quantity but rather to software bug with game itself

almost 3 weeks and still no fix for this?
Soosmokie Sep 6, 2020 @ 5:48pm
maybe try buying a video card instead of trying to make a game run with a trash setup.
