Forced to go to Online

I noticed after a few months away that when I start the game I go straight to Online instead of Singleplayer or a private server with the landing screen not registering my input to get to 'Story'. Even displaying an Xbox green A button instead of the default PC.

Anyone know of a way to force the game to load into Singleplayer/Story first? The option in settings doesn't seem to stick. I don't want to get into a server that likely has hackers and modders around.

Is the steam launch option appearing to let you select? I believe you can undo that/change it there too. (whether or not it works.. /beats me - been awhile since I tested that)

There's also file corruption sometimes for game issues but I'd check the other things first.

edit - rightclick gta5 in steam lbrary, properties, general tab. Ask each time or set it.

Right click the game, or select the gear beside the play button:
- Properties
- Launch options
- Choose GTA V story mode

Steam does have the launch options upon start up but it didn't stick
