Your game bought on Steam linked to your hacked Rockstar account. And can't be unlinked.
I wrote to support, said that my Rockstar account was hacked, that my account e-mail was changed and new account linked to my current e-mail. Asked if they can change it back. Sent screenshots of my purchases of GTAV and RDR2. They asked for my steam ID. After that they sent me a message to change password. So support do work. But it took about a week.
Provide steam ID.
Provide CD key.
Show purchase history.
Make screenshot of your account your are logged in and that it owns the game.
The process should take less than a week if you don't insult them.
They have not responded after sending receipts. The linked Steam ID64 should be more than enough to change over an account or an unlink Steam button on Steam's side would be better, but I don't think RS really cares about their customers at all.
The feeling of being scammed by a major company is not a good feeling at all...
Make sure to turn on 2FA with mobile because we can keep our mobile numbers but seemingly emails are not that great for account protection/recovery as these are at will for deletion at any given time or can thus become compromised there within.
Mobile 2FA keeps accounts safer just because you really cannot lose a mobile number unless you don't pay your bills, or go to prison.
Sorry to hear that. Also felt scammed at the moment. I enabled 2FA right after I got account back.
Support responded to me on the next day. I went through three diffrent people (Everytime I had to explain all over again.). And eventually got my account back. I know that "a week" is very lucky. I read on forums that some people months in dealing with this bs. Hope your problem also will be resolved in your favor.
