Forced to become a modder
>>> Some of you guys have been very helpful! Thank you! <<<

I really did not want to, but now I have no other choice. And here's why:
Two days ago I was in a public session with a friend. We were enjoying ourselfes, minding our own business and suddenly frozen screen. Had to force quit. When I logged back in, I got a social club message from some guy I've never had any interaction with - total stranger. He told me that if I would change my username, he would leave me alone and that he'd stop causing my game to crash. My (one and only!) response was "wtf is your problem?". Then he wrote: "last warning: change your name or this will go on for ever" (I'll spare you the names he called me in this and the following messages). I blocked him. Crashed. Got a message from another account, same guy, making fun of me for blocking him, as he's got many accounts, bla bla... Did block four and no more message since then.
It takes him one to two minutes to enter the session I'm in and make me crash. It drove him really mad when I began to play closed friend session. Said things like "be a man and grow some balls, get back to public session, etc."
So I thought that I found a way to play the game without being bothered. At this point I was hoping that if I'd just ignore him, he'd lose interest at some point. But then I did start a mission. That's when he had access again and made me crash. And that's when I figured that it must be some kind of automatism/bot/whatever.
Then I spent hours on different platforms/forums/chatgroups; explained what is going on.
Some guy told me to turn off router for ten minutes, get VPN thingy. Did that, problem remains. Rockstar could not care less, which is nothing new...
Then I did play with a friend of mine, who is modder himself (one of the good ones). He did host the session, had autokick active and he told me that he'll try different things. I didn't ask what, but it did work. For as long as he was host of session/mission, I was actually able to play the game.
So yeah, obviously the only solution is becoming a modder myself.
Strenghtens my theory that Rockstar earns money with mod menus... would explain a lot. Makes more and more sense to me.

I would suggest not modding on your main account, if you give a ♥♥♥♥ about it at all. (Tied to other games and consoles)

Pick up a couple grey market keys. Theyre like the price of a burger lol.

I am gonna look at both the sides. What was your name? Perhaps he had every right to get mad. If your name was inoffensive, and he keeps on doing this, then you have a nut case. I can't say much until I know more information to make a judgement. But we have a rule here..... you enter a public lobby, you are entering the dragons den. Enter at your own risk. I have 3000 hours plus. I play invite only and have firewall protocols setup. I have speyder's guardian too. I can only suggest to you.... public lobbies are pure cancer.

If someone has "offensive" name you can report it to R*. Hell, if you change session, there is a very high chance you won't see them ever again. It doesn't give you a right to join their sessions, crash game and harass via messages.

Strenghtens my theory that Rockstar earns money with mod menus... would explain a lot. Makes more and more sense to me.
The reality of a mod menu, if you ignore the griefy trolly thievy cheaty stuff it also has.
If your just wanting to protect yourself so that you can play properly.

The most popular menus will:

1. auto block crashes and modded kicks and various other attacks.(especially if your host)
2. protect you from being teleported about by modders
3. protect you from a modder who wants to spoof the host of your sessions and kick you.
4. protect your vehicles from being messed with, being kicked from own vehicle etc etc
5. Shows you what illegal features other players are using and who is griefing and who is not.
6. allow you to clean up modded trash spawned and left around in the public session.
7. remove anyone from your session with 1 click.
8. allow you to create your own public session (as host).

Just those features alone make some mod menus an extremely useful server administration tool and one might say, absolutely necessary in 2024 if you really want to play in public sessions.

At the end of the day rockstar dont host the public sessions, we do !
Every session has a host and most of the time the host does not even know hes the host.

A modder will come in and steal that host and kick the original host who probably is not a modder and does not know whats going on.

I think mod menu creators could still make big money if they just offered a menu with only those features I listed so a session host can protect himself and his session without the need for griefy attacks and rockstar asset theft giving stuff to players.

Shocking really that rockstar dont have the foresight to add a similar tool of their own for our safety, I mean little script kiddies are able to easily make server admin tools for gta, most other game creators offer hosting tools, why not rockstar the multi billion $$$ corporation ?
The biggest reason players say they get a mod menu "To protect myself"

As far as I am concerned any player is well within his rights to use a mod menu to protect his play as long as rockstar does not even offer us the most basic of hosting security features while they are forcing us to be session hosts !!!

Honestly shocking, should be a lawsuit for every player who ever hosted a gta session there to bring to take2 or whoever is running this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Forcing me to host connections for online script criminals worldwide for someone elses multi billion dollar game and don't even give me a sniff of security ?

The security is something you have to provide for yourself !
I never ever bought a shark card in gta.
If rockstar sold a session security tool I would buy it in a hot minute.
Furious Hellfire Mar 10, 2024 @ 4:25am
And the secret truth here is, what is the point in a gta online account if you cant play gta online with it ?
So it may as well be banned anyway
Enjoy your solo sessions bruh
Tanagram Mar 10, 2024 @ 4:55am
love this post!

not really a "cant beat them join them". more like, if they have nuclear weapons, so will i, especially since theres no SALT treaty being enforced.

ive decided the same for GTA6. I will mod it from Day0, I will become dark web

Ok. nice story.

popcorn eaten while reading this post...only 4 handfuls. You need to do better. Your story lacks any real excitement and I just can't help feeling because of prior experience with cheaters in the past you were just waiting for an excuse do it yourself.

Exactly what I'm thinking. As long as I'm being left alone with my problem, I have to come up with something. And since ppl like that guy won't get banned, there is absolutely nothing I have to worry about.
Zero McDol Mar 10, 2024 @ 9:28am
Do you want a pat on the back or something OP? Well you won't be getting it from me. Go ahead and enjoy your cheating, and I'll go ahead and continue to stay very far away from Public sessions.
