Gta 5 is lagging in Grass Area, fps can drop from 60 HELP
I have rtx 3070ti this 2015 game can drop fps even below 60,thats crazy!) I dont remember it was before.even in Grass area it was fine.I never had that issue before.Whats is going wrong with the game? Its not even 4k resolution, its full hd and ultra settings(msaa off) and always below 60 in Grass area.Could you help me someone with this problem?I think Rtx 3070 ti is more than enough for the 2015 game lol, maybe something wrong with the game

Turn down your grass settings, or deal with the framerate cutting in half. Its poorly optimized and well documented, there is no fix.

Something wrong.. I have a 3060ti, all ultra settings FXAA=on 1440p, fps never below 60, even grass areas. advanced graphics settings are on.

What's your CPU? It was lagging with my 3070 but when I upgraded my old cpu it instantly shot up from 30 to a stable 60

Er yea, not CPU related

Maybe drivers like the above post.

Grass still does suck though, not well optimized.
WHich DirectX do you have the game running in?

gta v initially required less capacity from PCs and laptops. In the past, a computer with an rtx 3080 card could run this game. This is no longer the case; nowadays, computers have to have an rtx 4090 card to run gta v. My laptop has very weak hardware to run gta v (the card is an mx 940) so gta online crashes a lot.

If you have newer hardware then DirectX11 is fine. Are you using any mods? Could be that some of them (I know LSPDFR does and graphical ones usually are as well) are very cpu intensive

This is not true, the graphical requirements have not been increased. You can run it on older hardware as long as it meets the requirements.

You literally pulled this out of your ass, gta 5's story mode runs well due to no dumb bloat, gta onlines primary reason for fps dips is that 1. Again the unoptimized bloat they keep adding 2. p2p or in general network generated players require more CPU processing power more than coded AI, this is why emptier sessions lag less.

the grass has always been the first thing to turn down.
I like having it but it also has a bunch of pop in which is not as desirable.

really hope that gets addressed in the next one.

Should not be normally, but switch API just to see if any change happens
