Sign in with account linked to steam?

So im back trying to play gtav after a year or so of not playing the game. Now they have a new launcher for rockstar that is refusing to let me log in no matter what email I use or password. Reset the passwords for all the emails and everything one after the other and none are working.
One instance it says that I must use the rockstar account that is linked to the steam profile... Ok... What account? Cause my steam is linked to the email i've been trying to use... It shows some weird as .ru email and i've never had any email other than gmail.... So it says to enter the password that belongs to email to login.... It don't even give me the full email it has *'s in it. I've heard of some being hacked and such but then why is it I can go on the internet browser and login to rockstar that way, however it don't show me any owned games or anything like that to link anything.... Idk what to do... I just spent over 8 hrs on sh!t wifi to download the game, just for this issue to appear.

Ideas or suggestions?

Steam email doesn't matter. The social club account email is the one that changed.

The reason you can log into the social club website with your info - is you are logging into a trash / empty / 'new' account using your old email. Look in your emails for one from R* - that says the email on the social club account changed(may be in another language, spam/filtered). It has a recovery link that may work --- but you would FIRST need to change the email on the 'empty/game-less' social club so it is unlocked for 'recovery'.

Recover your old account.

Says this steam account is already linked to a different social club account and to login with that info instead. Also I put in a support request with RS. I don't understand this crap

Yes the 'email' is just what get's into 'the account' The 'account' is the social club account.
The email on the social club account linked to the steam account - is what changed.
You can't log into a different social club account - hence the error.
You need the correct credentials for the linked social club account.

idk whats linked to that .ru email, i've never had an email like that. Social club rockstar browser online shows my email that I do use..... It doesn't give me any options to link anything tho, least not to steam

When you log into the browser - you are NOT on the linked social club account. You are on a bogus social club account, either made when you tried to recover/login/didn't read popups - or whoever took your account made it to confuse you. The account you can get into on the website- showing no games, no character, etc - proves you are on a garbage/useless social club account - not the one linked to the steam account.

In the social club account profile info is a linked accounts tab. This is where it would show your linked steam account - IF you were on the correct social club account. You can't change this or link another - as the gta5 cd key is a single use, non-transferable cd key - and the 'linked' social club account is 'permanently' linked.

R* is your only hope of help if you don't have recovery email from them to do it yourself.
(or you buy it again and all that other nonsense)

Social club account B - the empty/fake/imposter social club account.
This one has your 'real' email - and logs into website.

No good, because it is linked/tied to account A.
Maybe that is clearer.


edit - As for the 'just link a new account' - you can not. Your steam account is already linked to a social club account. The gta5 cd key on steam is a single use, non-transferable cd key. You need R* to help you recover your account -if- you do not have the recovery email from them (and it actually works). There is no other way unless you buy the game again.

that WAS a better explanation, thank you. It just don't make much sense as to how it would be a bogus page for social club account when it was directly off the RS launcher / website

You create an account in the Rockstar Games Social Club. Then link this Steam account to the Social Club you created
