Game crashes at "entering story mode"
Haven't played in a while. Came back to play some story mode and the game launches, get thru the rockstar launcher stuff, starts the "entering story mode" runs for about 10 seconds and quits back to steam.

I have updated all drivers, verified integrity, restarted steam all the basic fixes to no avail. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the Rockstar Game Launcher.
Make sure you reboot your PC before you try again.
If that still doesn't fix your issue, you can uninstall/reinstall GTA V via Steam.
Still having problems........It's most likely on your end. i.e. a networking issue. Possibly a Firewall/Security/Router setting.

Thanks for the reply. I've already reinstalled the launcher and I don't really to download the whole game over again but may have to. It's definitely nothing on my end as I played RDR for about 20 minutes last night with no issues.

you dont need to reinstall the whole game again, just verify game data via steam. it will hash check the files and then fix anything that may be broken.

have u modded your gta v files?
if u did, remove the modded files and verify the game files
and disable all 3rd party programs
set your power plan to high performance

Ha, that was it. I could have sworn it was vanilla but when I checked the mod folder I had the "skip the rockstar logo" mod installed. Removed it and all good. Rookie mistake lol.
