Can not connect with friend from Epic
I have the game since 2015. A friend of mine just got the game from Epic 3 days ago.
We have been constantly trying to join each other since yesterday, we can't.

We especially tried in hours when rockstar services were all up and running, all green. Both on PC.

I already submited a ticket to Rockstar but was wondering if anybody else on Steam were having the same issue connecting to their friends from Epic platform.

Any input is appreciated.

Yesterday we tried non-stop from 4pm to 2am.... At 2am we were finally connected...for 5 minutes then disconnected again.

Today we couldn't even meet in game.

We can both join other sessions, other friends, but not each other, what so ever...

We keep gettin "player no longer in session" error....
What errors are you guys getting?

I asked him about it, his was showing as "moderate"... Mine says "Not detected" may be i have the strict one....

Is that related to port forwarding, because I always have problems with that?

Trying to play with friend from RGL, it doesn't matter, the servers are dying again right now, social club is lagging like hell as well.

yes, if you want to be able to play with him no problem you need a moderate or open nat. moderate may not even fully work for you either.

I have the same issue from steam to steam player...

ps: if a friend asks you to open something to let him in, be careful maybe he doesn't just want to become your friend.

no one is asking him to open anything, it is simply a fact of life for p2p connections to need an open NAT to play nicely with each other.

Back at PC release I had an issue with every session being empty.After I enabled UPnP in my router settings I could play with other people.Have strict NAT for 6 years already.

UPnP is equal to opening your NAT. sounds more like you have a double NAT. because UPNP should open your NAT.

He did finish it, he streamed the whole proccess to me I helped him over voice chat. He got his properties and vehicles etc. Still didn't get the 1 million tho.

I'm thinking these server issues will be solved along with those prize distribitions in a week or so.

UPNP is enabled in my router settings. Today I also changed and confirmed that my NAT type was "open" but we still couldn't connect, which I believe leaves the "service status" as the only true culprit and today was worse than yesterday.

TBH I'm not comfortable with leaving it open either and don't know how to set it to moderate, but for now I'll keep it as open. If we manage to connect eachother stably I may tinker with it again and see what works and what not.

What bothers me is that I still could connect to my other friends and he still could join other sessions. Further into day I couldn't stay connected anywhere and seeing the services listed as limited as of right now, I'm not even trying for now.

But what I'm really trying to find out with this topic is; if there are any multitude of problems connecting cross platforms (Steam + Epic). I know there shouldn't be and I'm sure it will all settle with in a week or so but I saw that they have a different launcher and even a different loading screen and menu.

So either may be rockstar having and issue implementing the new users to their databases properly, or perhaps the version in Epic differs from Steam so much that we can't connect eachother. OR MAY BE they just prioritize the new users over us, leaving them alone in Los Santos until they gain a few more levels...

I don't know, that's why I need more examples from you guys.
