Is there anyway to play this game in offline mode and bypass the launcher?
Hi,

Is there anyway to bypass the GTA V launcher and go straight into the singleplayer? Before the Rockstar Launcher became a big launcher that it is today, it used to be just the multiplayer account for GTA IV / Max Payne 3. Well, when I owned one of those games years ago, I made an account with an email that is disabled.

I understand that much of this is my fault, but how was I to know some multiplayer launcher would grow into such a DRM service that ties your Steam account to it? I I don't care for the online portion at all by the way, so if there is a way I can play the singleplayer without it, that's okay with me.

I used to use some GTA V bypass launcher mod but an update stopped it from working and I think it conflicted with an anti-piracy measure this game has, like it would crash everytime I went into cover into a vehicle.

Thanks in advance for reading.

Specs (if important:)

OS: Pop!_OS 20.04 LTS
CPU: AMD FX-8320 Eight-Core
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 (DRIVER VER: 440.82)
RAM: 8 GB

Yeah I want to know too. I have been stuck at the launcher window for over an hour confused and frustrated why it won't connect. It just gets the same error again and again.

Damn, I saw your post about going into offline mode and I thought it would work, but then it asks me to go online to activate the game.

So, like it goes through the intro videos and loads, but then it says I gotta go online to activate and pressing continue quits the game. *I should note that my social club account that is tied to my Steam automatically signs in, obviously in offline mode.*

But thanks still, i'm able to actually be in the game, just can't get past the activation screen lol.

Then you have enabled your internet to soon after launching the game. Or at least you did something wrong. Did you make sure all GTA + Rockstar associated apps were closed? Disable the internet, load into story mode, re-enable internet. But from what I hear the problem is fixed or about to be fixed anyways.

If you followed the steps correctly, the game will automatically sign you into "offline mode" on the Rockstar launcher, without asking for any captchas, passwords or usernames.

The servers are limited right now so you will have problems with log in, also yes, R* Launcher is a ♥♥♥♥ and R* even worse for updating an old game with this and forcing everyone to use it. Results me not buying any ♥♥♥♥ from R* anymore.

P.S: A fews weeks ago I and a bunch of people had the same problems as you with this activation thing and errors, and was because the servers down so wait until tomorrow or days and you will log in normally.

it wouldn't let me go into story mode or anything even when i disabled my internet or used the launch option to force it into offline mode. So my internet is disabled and it tells me to activate the game by going online. And yes, there are no Rockstar ♥♥♥♥ on my PC running in the background.

If I disable the internet, I don't even reach the main menu. The game wants me to activate it by going online, which just repeats the problem above. And the screen that tells me to activate only gives me the option to just quit the game and go online. There is no menu after I press enter after that screen yelling at me to go online.

Also should mention this same issue happens with GTA IV too since they recently just updated it to use the Rockstar Launcher DRM.
