Keyboard not responding
So the game just randomly stopped recognizing my keyboard. It accepts input from mouse and controller, but nothing from keyboard. I've tried rebooting, unplugging and plugging in the device, starting the game in safe mode. Also tried verifying game integrity.

Earlier today it worked, and it's worked since I've had the game.

The keyboard works in every other application I have. So the problem is localized to GTA5.

Any suggestions?

This literally just happened to me literally a couple minutes at most an hour ago it was working fine i could use oth keyboard and gamepad at the same time but now my keyboard just decided not to want to work out of the blue. Could this be like a rockstar problem or something?

Same Thing. It happens when Xbox One Controller connected.

There has been a change on Xbox One Controller after Windows 10 update.

(Z axis input)

This problem fixed after Windows 10 update uninstall (KB3140743)

It contains 'XINPUT compatible HID device' [10.0.10586.122] Driver.

Now [10.0.10586.0] Driver No problem at all.

This fixed the problem for me. Thanks!

Same issue here. Uninstalled KB3140743 but problem still persists.
Keyboard is definately active, steam overlay works but all keys in game/menus dead unless xbone controller unplugged.

Annoying issue. Didn't think to check about the update. Good catch! Hopefully it gets fixed rather soon.

Not sure that you know what literally means

You literally have to be Hitler himself to literally say that. Literally.

A temporary fix for this (and a simple one as a matter of fact, since you can't stop windows 10 from updating) is just to unplug your controller before launching GTA V, and after the game has finished loading, plug it back in. Now both the keyboard and controller should be working together again.

I restarded my computer yesterday to apply the update and this problem started to happen, so it's something microsoft did.

This is a really nasty bug. It happens for me on pretty much any game. If I plug in my Xbox one controller while running a game it causes my mouse input to go crazy. The mouse buttons will stop working, and the mouse cursor/input starts moving really slow and laggy and the computer makes a beeping noise constantly from the speakers if the mouse is moving or I click a button on it.

Only thing that will make it stop is forcing a shut down by holding the power button and rebooting. Positive it's caused by something messed up in the latest cumulative update for Windows 10 because as soon as I uninstalled update KB3140743 I can't reproduce this bug.

Was on the verge of ordering a new motherboard because I was starting to suspect a hardware issue until I saw multiple posts on reddit and other sites of people having the same issues. Right now I let Windows re-install the update but have just left my Xbox One controller unplugged until a fix is pushed through. So far it hasn't happened again, but it sucks not being able to use my controller.

Same here.
Now, before I start the game, I unplug the XOne controller :/

Ah, finally! Nice to find some other troubled ones... Not because I'm happy with issue, just less alone, hehe. I just got the problems. I figured it could be the last win 10 update since it worked fine earlier today. Microsoft better fix this bug soon.
