It WAS the best coupe for races but the update that made spoilers add traction (waaaay back on 360) allowed the Zion and the Felon to bring the fight straight to it. It's also RWD, not AWD. Everything in the coupes class is RWD.

Also with the spoiler update the Sultan is faster than the Exemplar and, as said above, the Schafter V12 beats both of them
