Matchmaking: Open or Closed?

Everytime I try to launch the heist it gives me the option to make matchmaking open or closed.
I can't tell which one is better to get players to join fastest. The description they give doesn't help either.
So can someone tell me the difference between open and closed matchmaking?

open will invite people playing in free roam, closed will not...

Having it open only allows for people to find the job through quick heist or manually searching for heists. Having it closed will close the lobby to people without invites.
