ScripthookVDotNet won't create a log file, please read below for description if you think you can help me
i'm hoping for the legend psykoteky to help me. I've been searching for the past week and he has helped a lot of people...

WARNING LONG TEXT

Heres the problem:

I'm trying to mod GTA V, simply as that. Bought on steam. I'm using Windows 10, i have Netframework 4.8 and i have C++ Visual from 2013 to 2022, i've already downloaded all of the requirements and made sure they ARE indeed installed multiple times. So as far as requirements go, i do meet them. I also don't have an external antivirus, only windows defender.

I downloaded scripthookv, extracted the native trainer, and both DLLs to gta v root folder on steam (they're not in the bin folder, i took them out and pasted them directly in GTA's directory.

Next, i downloaded ScripthookVdotnet and pasted all the files except for the txt, this means that i have the asi, the ini, the dlls and xmls files all in the directory as well.

Based on these infos, i should be able to log in the game and simply press F4 (its the bind in the ini) to open the native trainer in order to bring the menu. Thing is, i can't... What i noted at first is that based on older threads, launching GTA V with these files should generate a couple of log files in the folder. The problem is that mine do not generate when i launch my game from steam, it simply won't.

The only way to make the log files to be generated in my root folder is to double click on the GTA5.exe, then i do get a scripthookv.log and a asiloder.log file, and opening them doesn't show any errors:

https://prnt.sc/QuzUPvkYHZ4y

The thing is, when i open GTA through this .exe i mentioned, the game won't open. It gives me an error saying that i should open GTA V from the Rockstar Social Club Launcher and with a code: 'ERR_NO_LAUNCHER'. Nothing else happens.

With that said, even though 2 log files were generated, one of them wasn't. Which is the file for Scripthookvdotnet... And all the threads and topics i read this past week showed me that a file named 'scripthookvdotnet.log' should be there together with the 2 other log files i mentioned.

This also raises another question, why only GTA5.exe creates the log files, even if it's missing one? And launching the game through steam, through playgtav.exe and through gtavlauncher.exe DO NOT create them? Maybe this is the problem? How can i fix this? Or maybe it isn't the problem and i'm just talking nonsense.

Observation: I'm using the latest version from both tools provided in their respective websites, this means that i'm using SHV v3095 and SHVDN v3.6.0, and my game is updated as well.

I have tried : Reinstalling the game, uninstalling rockstar launcher and installing it on the same SSD i have GTA on, giving full controll permision to the entire steam folder where GTA is on the SSD for all users (i'm the only user in this computer), i have tried using older versions for both tools, using other trainer besides the nativetrainer (simple trainer and enhanced native trainer) None of these worked...

I also tried seeking help on gta v modding discord, and on SHVDN's official github threads. Nobody could help me, so i'm hoping someone else can, or at least try... Thank you!

Thanks to psykoteky i managed to find the issue. It was an mistake by my part. I had 2 copies of the game installed on two different disks (i didnt choose that, not sure why it was duplicated)... Turns out steam was executing the copy without the mod files.

If you have this issue in the future, check your other drives to see if theres a GTA V there even if you didn't install it manually... :)
