salvage vs sell

Any reason I'd rather salvage than sell a stolen vehicle?... Like, do you get something additional out of it?

As far as I know if you salvage you don't have to drive it to the Docks, and in that need to avoid damage that reduces the payout. Salvage pays less than Dock sells to begin with. And takes a period of time for it to be stripped.
Selling at dock pays more.
For players like me that don't really care about the money Salvage might be an option.
For players looking to maximize the $$$$ selling at the Docks might be a better choice.
