Did 5 sell well on PC?
A recent developer was saying Rockstar is always focused on the Playstation versions of GTA as they sell the most.

I thought 5 did very well on PC? All the big streamers on youtube always use the PC version with mods in their videos.

Is the PC version really a drop in the bucket compared to Playstation?

I doubt it's a drop in the bucket, but PS5 is the best selling console and the console market has a lower barrier to entry then PC. Rockstar develops for the biggest market first (consoles) then releases PC around a year later. This allows them to sell the game twice to the person who is too impatient to wait for the PC release too.

GTA5 feels bad with kb&m, way better with a gamepad especially with driving.

One way to get a rough idea is to look at the number of reviews. Less than 10% of users leave review after purchase. I usually multiply by 5 to be extra conservative.

Considering the game has 1.5 million reviews on Steam and only like 5% of players (may vary from game to game) usually leave a review for a game, that would be 30 million sold PC copies just on Steam. I mean it's the second most sold video game of all time (after Minecraft) with 190 million copies sold overall across all platforms. 30 million copies sounds realistic for PC. That would still make it one of the most sold PC games of all time and selling significantly more than just about any other game. Plus the money they earn via GTA Online. PC market is definitely not just a drop in the bucket for Rockstar.

- 25.9 million units sold - just on Steam, as of today.
- Who knows how many Shark Card sales over the years, as those aren't calculated.

Also, it should be considered that this game came to Steam in 2015, whereas PC was still growing as a popular platform for gaming. Now, the number of sales for a current gen GTA game would likely be higher.

Speak for yourself. If controller was the only option, i would not even touch this game.

lol no, historically, most of the time with almost all iterrations of gta it was pc focused, once sony had a exclusivity period on san andreas it caused this trend of thinking they focus dev on a playstation dev kit. NOT TRUE

they make more money off consoles because the only way for them to get money is to either buy shark cards or grind for 80hrs a week. so for most of them, shark cards it is

I thought GTA5 Sold alright on Computers...

It only recently started getting such problems
with Sales, but GTA6 is right around the courner,
so i'm not sure that even matters anymore...

I've been considering leaving a negative review actually, as the lack of animals and Hao's Special Works in the PC version is an unacceptable lack of parity.

PC gamepad here as well. Some games are great with M&K but I can't even imagine playing GTA that way. It would take me forever to get adjusted to that.
