GTA V not even launching

As the title says, it wont even launch, no error message or anything. I have tried many methods to fix this such as reinstalling Rockstar, my GPU drivers, verified game files, run as administrator and even the one method where you disable your GPU drivers, then enabling them once the game starts (it never even started).

Rockstar Support is basically non existent.

Never owned GTA V before.

Using Windows defender? Check it to make sure it's not blocking the game from launching. Do you have DirectX installed? (10 or 11 (preferably 11))

when you try to launch it, does it stay on the background processes in task manager?

Short of more details - like N/KN windows, log files, if you see blackbox/star - sirens and breaking glass loading screen, etc - to help determine how far you are getting through the loading process.

Disabled windows defender completely. Do have DirextX 11 installed. It stays in the background for a split second before vanishing. I am not that advanced to really understand further from putting a PC together, installing Windows on it and selling it off.

Just a heads up, running any online video game as administrator is risky business and should be avoided. Once you run an application as administrator, the gloves are off and anything could happen. With the network insecurities and dangers GTA online presents. There was already an RCE exploit patched around February.

I have the same issue, i just purchased GTA V a few hrs ago. The issue is that stupid Rockstar Launcher. I had the exact same problem with the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition and RDR2. I ended up uninstalling and requesting a refund and then just installing those games from torrents. i hope it won't be the same for gta V, but I haven't found the solution yet. what's funny is that the only game which seems to be working with the launcher is GTA IV. All others are NOT launching ! and PC specs are not an issue !

not true, and you are required to run steam as admin, any any game steam runs will run as admin so. im not sure where you get that data from but you are wrong.

The launcher has been a freaking mess for years. Nobody likes it, but Rockstar forces us to use the POS.

i tried installing windows media feature pack but it didn't solve the issue. i created a support ticket on the Rockstar website but didn't get a response yet, it's been almost 24 hrs. i really have a hard time understanding why Rockstar doesn't solve this stupid issue.....don't they want to make sales anymore ? from the 4 games i bought so far from them, i had to request a refund for 2 of them, and soon i will do it too for this one also......really weird because i love their games and i'm be happy to pay for them...but f i can't even launch them.....

Well this really sucks. Rockstar so sucks at making and maintaining a launcher that doesn't frig up every five minutes. How freaking annoying... It can take anywhere from 3 days to a week+ sometimes for support too respond. If I remember right, they resolve tickets lie waiting in line at a grocery store. It's always been this atrocious.

Hopefully you get a response sooner than later.

ok guys, so i finally found the solution and it works over here.
In my case, i have a Windows 11 Pro N version. The N version doesn't have the media feature pack installed, you must install this first ! Afterwards i tried launching the game via the .exe file from the game folder and installed the 4 missing DLLs (you will find them on dll-files.com) , then restart the computer and it works ! Finally !
