Is Cayo Perico Heist the best way to make money currently?
I bought the agency a week or two ago during the double money and rp event for it, and was grinding out security contracts for awhile, since that isn't really viable any longer... should I grind the VIP contract, or should I just buy the kosatka and grind the cayo perico heist?

The VIP contract can be finished in about one hour, and gives 1 mil upon completion. I think the cool down for it is like an hour or so. Isn't the cool down for cayo perico like 2.5 hours or something? So.. Is the cayo perico heist better than doing the VIP contract? Or maybe should I try to do both, and alternate between them while the other is on cool down? That doesn't seem like a bad idea I suppose. Or is the another method that's even better?

Cayo it's better if you go with at least another player, you can do it solo and probably make a bit more than the VIP contract, but then the cooldown for cayo will be longer

The reason Cayo is NOT the best choice over the long haul is a personal one. Just how many times will you do a thing? It has been my experience that most people tire of a task after around 30 labors of it. Even with the variation of methods it will usually whittles down to one or two methods but it still becomes tiresome. A grind routine based around a business works better for me, the Bunker, Solo ... everything is based around that 2 hour cycle. Pick and choose what you enjoy doing, because in the long run you'll be doing it a lot. Eventually everything pays double and every dog will have his day. But don't do the MC stuff, buy the businesses to support a NC, but the heck with that Postal Van mission.
Cayo is just something to do in between Bunker sales.
EVERYTHING ... is just something to do in between Bunker sales.
The Bunker rules because you can "find another session" and skip the lame ones at almost no cost. This game can become like a job, if that's so ... pick an easy job.
If you can run your game AFK, take advantage of it in this game and incorporate a Nightclub ETC.
If FAST GTA5 money is what you need, just bite the bullet and use the in-game phone and go on-call for the Casino heist or Cayo and get the real GTA5 experience.

Yup, each person has their preferences and reasons for it.. like if I have a friend to help me with casino.. we will help each other setup/prep and then we have two casino's to run back to back. By the time the second is done, which ever of us went first is ready to scope the next vault contents..

Doing this, and splitting 50/50 on both runs, equates to the same as doing a single run solo (50%x2 = 100%).. So realistically, you make $2m in the 3 hrs it takes to complete both sets of setup preps and knock down both heists.. This breaks down to about the same as hosting the 3 leaks and both Dre missions back to back.. So really it's just what do you prefer to do?

That is also probably an overshoot in estimating time to account for some missions maybe running longer for various reasons, or maybe there's interruptions like bathroom breaks, taking the dog out, need for drinks/snacks/smokes, etc..

I prefer the casino heist over Cayo because the preps are more fun and easier than Cayo preps.. the guards are more forgiving than Cayo; on Cayo, they'll alert for what seems like a random reason where they otherwise shouldn't have been alarmed.. restart Cayo after you leave the compound, you lose money from your take..

It's still good. Get at least one another player and cooldown will be 48 minutes. Also can cycle in casino heist (will need 1 more player for finales as well). If you insist fully solo, then yeah, run cayo and contract in turns.

Cayo Perico isn't worth the invested time anymore. What Kiwi {JESUS IS LORD} said is spot on and why I have too abandoned this game. Rockstar is making it more difficult to earn without grinding extremely long hours to only be minimally rewarded. It's also intended to lock players into their game loop with hopes that they will spend real money. It's Rockstar's strategy to make people get sick of all the game's grind, cave in and buy Shark Cards. That's also why everything is so ridiculously expensive to buy with in-game cash. Rockstar wants it to be as painful as possible, but not so painful nobody will be interested. Take Two and Rockstar play mind games more than a Thot trying to get their next Sugar Daddy fix.
Even with the nerf, you can easily do it all in 30 minutes and make 1.2 mil minimum off it. Still fastest money maker. Best with 2 for 48 min cooldown though, diamond casino is probably better too with 2 players now though. EDIT: learn to jobwarp, saves easily like 20 minutes or 10.

I have to agree with people here. Cayo perico is the best way to earn money solo. No doubt about that. The only problem is, you have to keep doing it and doing it until you get so sick and tired of it. I have 600 runs on cayo perico. I dream cayo perico. Do other stuff because you will be burned out. I even call El rubio my brother.

Appreciate the responses from everyone, I think for now I'll keep grinding out the VIP contract. I invested a bit of money into the bunker as well so I can do sell missions in between doing the VIP contract. But yeah it seems like the reward from Cayo isn't much better and I'd prefer to do it solo, so the cool down would be even longer than the VIP contract. The VIP contract, even though it's extremely annoying, with some unskippable cutscenes that drive me insane, and slightly less payout seems like it's the better option for me as a solo player currently. Maybe when I save up a bit more money I'll buy the kosatka anyway, just as something to do in between cool downs..

Yeah it's a bit sad that the grind is really all the online portion is known for. But I'm used to it, and the grind was just as awful back when online released, nothing has really changed. Anything R* designs is going to be grindy, unfortunately.

Yeah not everybody can rush it in 30 minutes because they don't have the tools to make it a 30 minute job. Without the Sparrow, MK2 or whatever else to jet around, it's not just a simple 30 minute run for most starting out with the Kosatka. If a player has got all the gear to make it faster, sure, 30 minutes, but not without it all. It also depends on the approach the player chooses for the heist. That can affect how long it takes too.

@Zero it has been like that from the start yeah. Just got worse and worse through the years when Rockstar realised how much cash they could skim from their players with Shark Cards. From there on it's been hell. I lost all interest when the pulled all the cars to put them behind a grind / FOMO wall. That's pretty well where I lost all respect for Rockstar as a company. They've got some very talented developers, but the business decision makers are destroying the company's reputation, image and entertainment value with greed.

If you're still having fun though that's cool. I wish I could find the same enjoyment you do, but alas all the bad decisions as of late I've lost all interest. Makes me sad because it can be a fair bit of fun, but the insatiable greed and making us grind for eons for so little is depressing and disappointing.

Anyway, have fun what you enjoy doing. That's all that really matters.

Yes. Do it enough to buy sub on 2nd toon and run em both. Easy money.

I'd say without all that its at most 45 minutes with job warping.
