Gta 5 always crashing when story mode loading and online mode not showing up.

I just downloaded gta 5 and every time that i want to go play story mode, the game crashes when i want to load in story mode. Also, on the menu, i dont have the online option. AND I HAVE NO MODS INSTALLED. pls help me

Online option generally disappears due to lack of a 'prologue' completion save, or corrupt files. Renaming the folder as mentioned in the above link wipes the slate clean - and then you do the prologue (or drop in a save past that), or turn on cloudsync, blah blah. (though, I wouldn't use cloudsync at all - use local saves, be responsible for your saves - and then that is one more 'fail point' removed from the 'wee imma play' process)

Of course - could be controlled folder access, some other form of antivirus/security, onedrive causing issues, the mentioned problems with my docs / rockstar games, install corruption, savegame corruption, possible issues with lack of admin/permissions, directx, gpu drivers, media feature pack, background programs, overlays, etc etc. Heck, you might even be lucky enough to have 2.. 3.. 6.. 10+ crash causing problems.. making this even more fun to sort out. /weeee

As for the 'i have no mods' ---- there have been plenty of people over the years 'stating' that - because they believed they 'cleaned' them - and didn't. So flip it - were mods installed at some point? If so - how did you clean? If we are using it to define 'cheat menus online' --- you basically troubleshoot any of this with as many 'non'vanilla variables removed - period.

I just realized that when i change the folder "Rockstar Games" to "rockstar games old, it puts the old version of gta 5 where you cannot access to the main menu. When you launch the game, it directly puts you in story mode. Also, i played gta 5 a while ago and i installed mods. Between that time, i needed to reset my pc to install a new windows so its impossible that my gta 5 has mods. Idk if you could give me some more precise informations so i can play gta 5 normally

well yes it starts story mode because you need a save game that has completed the tutorial in order to get into online.
just complete the tutorial bro, your old save is probably corrupted.

yeah so rename it to old and then play.

yes! its all the same, old is defining the file backup not the version

I really don't think that it's my save that is corrupted. But I'll write the error codes when I will be home
