topic is from the 21st when the servers may have gone down for a while for a few people, now its just stragglers that probably have old dns. get a new dns or refresh your old one. or just wait it out. or if you dont wanna wait contact rockstar support.

they screwed up something related to the start options
if you start the game in sp from steam you can't switch to online nor activate social club but if you use the start online option it works just fine

nope, i just tried it myself works 100% fine.

Forcing the game to launch in Online mode worked for me.

- Open Story Mode. Settings > Saving and Startup
- Turn Landing Page to 'Off'. Change Startup Flow to 'Load into GTA Online'
- Close game and relaunch

Doesn't always work but I've been able to get online a few times today using this.

i dont think there is a specific method that would work to load into online
I've tried a few methods yesterday like launch directly into a public session or use the R launcher none of those worked but then earlier all of the sudden it worked.
while my Epic acc had no problem at all

Maybe its their way of telling us to play other games, better games, instead

Did that on them twitter support page, which looks dead af as well lol...

Seems random if you login and still have no connection.
I don't play via Steam, only via rockstar-launcher ... I now logged in 5 times to have my account actually connnected. All other tries left me logged in but "not connected", so i could only play story.

disable your vpn and the problem will be solved... and if you cannot because without it you cannot play at all.... well you shouldn't play the game at first place support won't help you.

worked for me, first load said it couldn't connect and went to story but then it jump back to loading online and got it
