GTA V Alt + Tab Crashes, 100% CPU and Constant Studdering During Gameplay
About a month ago I was playing with some single player modifications in GTA V. After a while I was done with the mods and made sure to erase everything that had to do with the mods before starting the game back up. Now I have been forced to come to steam in order to ask the peoples of the world to help me solve my problem. When I start GTA V I am sent through the R* launcher and everything is fine until the screen starts the flashing abstract lights and I can hear sirens. When Alt + Tabing out of the game, and Alt + Tabing back into the game the window freezes, turns black, and eventually I have to force close it via task manager or let the error window state "GTAV.EXE Has Stopped Working" and it closes. When I don't do any Alt + Tabing out of the window there is the chance I will bump my wired controller and it will disconnect. Reconnecting my wired controller also crashes the game. Clicking out of the window or opening any other task via anything (task manager, GeForce Experience, Windows Desktop) also crashes the game. On the rare occasion I do get in game, I am plagued with constant studdering and my cpu is always running at 100% even though I am in safe mode. The closest thing to a fix so far was a clean install of my nVidia Drivers, and an update to the game. I was able to start the game and run it without problems, but after about thirty minutes of playing the game suddenly crashed, and everything came back. Once again I am at square one. These problems happen when I am running on the highest settings, safe mode (something like 600 X 800 resolution and lowest settings), and low - medium settings. All of the "Fixes" R*'s troubleshooting menu has come up with aren't helping me one bit, and I have spent more that 100hrs on researching and attempting to repair my problem. I also feel inclined to say that even when minimised and on the lowest priority possible the GTA V launcher was taking up between 25-26% of my cpu, and the game itself was consuming 40%-70% of the cpu. Gpu, Ram, and Hard Drive were all still just fine as far as performance and tempratures were concerned.

Fixes I have tried include:
Deleteing all GTAV and R* related files in every menu they were stored in,
Restarting my pc (just gotta include that)
Upgrading my GPU ( this wasn't an attempted fix just something that was going to happen)
Safely overclocking my CPU with proper heating solutions
Changing priorities for processes in the task manager
Lowering the amount of cores used by GTAV.EXE
Lowering the settings from every menu
Starting the game from different locations like GeForce Experience
Performing express and clean driver installations for my GPU
Waiting for the game to get an update
Changing window types and resolutions ingame
Reapplying thermal paste to my CPU
Using a more powerful PSU
Lowering every single task to lowest priority except GTAV.EXE which was raised to highest
Lowering game settings as low as possible, and rising them as high as possible

Almost everything else I could find Including all troubleshooting tips on R*'s so called support site.

I have put around or over 100+ Hrs researching this issue to no avail, if anyone can help me fix these problems without a factory restart to a pc, I would be an extremely happy person.

PC Specs:

Windows 10 professional (64bit)
AMD Athlon x4 760k (slightly overclocked)
Evga GeForce GTX 970 SC (I know this is bottlenecked by the cpu but this problem occured before I upgraded from a GTX 750ti FTW to a GTX 970 SC)
Corsair CX 500psu
8GB Corsair Vengence Blue
1TB Western Digital Blue
(I have ethernet directly to a router and my internet is very good so that should not be the problem)

Again, If anyone could provide a helpful fix I would be sooooooo happy, thanks!

I started having similar issues after Windows rolled out patch KB3139907 for Windows 10. Uninstalling it fixed the issue but Windows re-installed it and won't let me uninstall it. So far I have been able to get around the issue by unplugging my xbox one controller and plugging it back in once I'm in the game. If I alt-tab for to long it will black screen and crash on me and sometimes it will do that no matter what.

Also I did have 12GB of ram and decided to go with 16GB after seeing how much GTAV was using but I usually have a couple background programs running.

Oh my god you've solved it! I never even thought of plugging my controller back in after getting in game! Thank you so much!
