Game ruined for modders

Mods ruin this game. Period. Doesn't matter if you're the one modding or not.. doesn't matter if the modder is a good sport and decent player or a griefing troll.

For obvious reasons, those without mod menus are at the same disadvantage all players should be at, so I'm not going to discuss this from a perspective of a non-mod user. I also lack the experience of using mod menus for this game, so I don't really have a perspective from a modder.

Nonetheless, I am convinced that there is nothing good that comes from modding. The game is developed and tested under normal conditions, not including 3rd party mods, so just using the mod menus increases the chance your game doesn't connect or crashes at random. You're changing game behavior and expected results for the game as well as other players. Even if you're trying to be helpful and a nice guy, you are still creating detriments that don't even need to exist in the first place..

So why do people mod?
To protect themselves from other modders? If players didn't start modding, others wouldn't defend themselves with menus.

To gain access to locked items that are unaffordable otherwise? This is a form of instant gratification and only enables and encourages impatience. Using mods to access items that would otherwise be earned undermines/removes the appreciation and dedication to acquire that asset legitimately. Also having everything at your access makes this game more boring without something to work towards, there's no reason to repeat the same job for the 50th time.. So you get burned out of the game early on because you're grinding the same couple dozen jobs and never doing any heists, doomsday, or other content outside of contact missions.

In conclusion, using a mod menu is pointless. This game is easy to play, and if you find it difficult that means you either need more practice, or you need to think outside of the box and do something unorthodox to succeed. Things are priced high, there's no arguing that, but that's keep players grinding and playing to work towards that asset.. because once that asset is acquired, the attraction of it begins to dwindle regardless if that asset was earned or modded in..

This is an old game now. You are beating a dead horse literally. Just remember who Rockstar is trying to cater to. Little kids. And when you have little kids playing, the ethics of being a good player is thrown out the window. Kids are impatient and want things NOW!!!!

Hence the reason for the over priced content and sale of shark cards. Also more reason to be proactive against modders.. but seems like the only modders that get in trouble are those modding/exploiting money..

Granted the money modders are taking out of R*'s pockets more, but even the nicest of modders may be ruining someone's experience and/or deterring someone else from playing; which hurts potential shark card sales as well..

Nonetheless, this thought definitely made me rethink all of these threads we see here about the game randomly crashing or not working right.. seems to run just fine since I'm not running something along side to interact with it..

I totally agree on that. All modders are sad beings and got no social life. Thus they mock people online, some even so far that they mock outside of GTAO like for example the kid named thunder. He even goes so far with it to threat me randomly in my GTA screenshots with what he gonna do with me in case I should go online. Stuff like this however just reflects how sad these beings are. They recieved no love probably in their lifes and dont know how to act towards people. Best thing to do nowadays is just to play at FiveM or singleplayer, because GTAO is doomed atp. Aint no point in playing public lobbys if you got half of the dudes exploiting menus there to the highest degree just to play god online, aint worth your time actually. I cant say it more than enough, just dont play GTAO and leave the modders alone. They will clash with each others then even more and got to deal with their kicking/crash competition and will be busy deflecting crashes and crashing others lmfao

doesnt matter if it's an old game. they're still selling it to people on steam. It's product you pay money for, and still is being sold in 2023. At this point it might as well just be called a scam. And also it'd be different if they put up something saying "we no longer provide support for online" but they keep releasing DLC as if everything is fine when really it's not and the game is totally ruined by modders in EVERY session. They can do this because people just go "its old whatever" so like stop being a non caring dingus cause thats why they're still robbing people by making them pay for this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ griefer-cockroach-infested game.

If EVERYONE just started annoying the crap out of rockstar about it and stopped buying gta till it was fixed they'd solve the problem.

Do take note how the only actual griefing/modding they've prevented is money drops, which OBVIOUSLY is ONLY fixed because it was preventing them from selling their in game currency for stupid prices.

The ONLY reason I have this game and have supported it is because I've been playing it since it first came out on ps3 and moved to steam soon after. So rockstar, if you see this, don't think I support you now after you let the game go to ****.

Exactly, R* makes a lot of money out of people like you, Soloplayer, that buy the same game dozzens of times. I couldnt follow how often you own the game, because you got like 20 accounts, but you put some money into R* that is for sure

wrong, mods do enhance the game, Cheats ruin the Game. You're mixing it up, because you are talking what others talked before you, and instead of doing it right, you do it wrong just like all the People before you.

Learn the diffrence between Cheaters, And Modders.
Gosh what did GTA actually do with the players? Is this some sort of brainbusting game? Or why is the concentration so high here?

If you only knew my experience in modding.. I helped make No Man Sky worthwhile in the beginning.. and you're not wrong.. but we're talking GTA in general.. where the mods in question or concern are those communicating with the servers and affecting other players' experience. Not talking about shader mods, model replacements, or GUI alterations as very few bother with these; and in the grand scheme of GTA cheating, someone doing this wouldn't even be considered a "modder" because they're not modifying the game's behavior.
