it's based on the player controlling Franklin.. only a player could tell you why they opted for this choice..
I can change it to Trevor
1) Franklin is like a son to Michael
Yeah, but does Michael really need another son? I mean, he already has to deal with the antics of his actual son, Jimmy. Adding Franklin into the mix might just give him a headache.
2) Trevor hated M for what he did in North Yankton
That's true, but let's be real, Trevor hates a lot of things. He hates people who wear sandals, he hates people who don't like his cooking, he even hates his own reflection sometimes. So, I don't think his hatred for Michael should be the sole reason for replacing Franklin.
3) It makes more sense
I'm sorry, I'm still trying to figure out what actually makes sense in GTA V. A game where you can hijack a plane, rob a bank, and run over pedestrians without any consequences. Let's just say logic isn't really a strong point.
4) Franklin has a brother-like and father-like friend
Oh, you mean Jimmy, the same guy who is always getting into trouble and causing chaos? Yeah, I'm sure Michael really appreciates having him as a "son." And as for Franklin saving Michael, let's not forget who actually saved Trevor from getting killed by the Lost MC. I believe that deserves some recognition.
In conclusion, while I appreciate your argument, I think it's safe to say that the plot of GTA V is already pretty absurd, so replacing Franklin with Trevor might not make much of a difference. Plus, can you really imagine Trevor being the one to mourn Michael's death? That might just be too much for his fragile psyche.
