How did Tao Cheng survive?

Honestly, in Option C, it's a mystery how Tao Cheng really survived. Franklin literally threw a bomb where he was sitting in a car with the 2 other cars, carrying other triads and in the explosion, Wei Cheng and the triads were killed but Tao Cheng somehow got away with this. How?

It's not canon that you throw a sticky bomb and explode the whole car. Even the objective says that you only need to kill Wei Cheng. So we can assume that Franklin simply shot Wei and made his escape

The main enemy to kill was Wei and that's all Franklin cared for. Franklin does not even know who Tao is, to him Tao is just like every other Triad member that was protecting Wei. He simply shot Wei and made his escape, not bothering to kill any of his bodyguards

Yeah but Tao would obviously die aswell accidentally since he was right next to Wei since, Franklin used the sticky bomb which exploded, causing both of them to perish in fires

Your outside logic also means Dr Freidlander would live after him telling Micheal he had been exploiting him after his therapy sessions. What does the objective for that mission to obtain the Gold award also require? Hint: It's not to let him live.

Keep planting your own ideals for why things mean things in the non-canon Online mode.

It's not my own ideal, if a character from story mode has a choice of being spared or killed and he later appears in Online via new update post-Gunrunning then it is not a canon choice to kill him

But just because it says that you get a gold metal, doesn't mean that it is cannon. While it would be hard to shoot Tei without killing Tao, this is GTA we are talking about. Nothing makes sense. But to end this debate, Yes Tao survived.
