Buy on Steam, owned on Rockstar

I own originally DVD copy of GTA V, which got activated on Rockstar. If I buy GTA V on Steam, to simply have it here and be able to download/update from Steam, will it join with my Rockstar account and will I be able to use single player save AND my online account regardless if I launch Steam version or Rockstar version?
Also there is only Premium version on Steam, I don't have that one on Rockstar. What happes? Will it activate Premium features and Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack for my current online profile? Or not?
I hope someone who rebought Steam's GTA V after playing Rockstar's for a long time before that will clear this for me.

Rockstar and steam copies are different, your progress won't transfer over to steam and your Rockstar version won't get the criminal pack.

The copies 'are different' (though R* has taken steps to make them now match). They are also both (all - steam, egs, r*) considered pc. As long as you link the SAME social club account, you'll be able to access your online character. Saves should behave similarly as you are still using the same social club profile.

When EGS gave away premium gtav a couple years ago - players also linked that to their social club account that had been linked to steam already. They got the CESP that route. As for how it behaves from one launcher or the other - don't know- didn't link/do this paragraph. (I suspect works as it comes with premium and applies to the social club account).
