my gta online are stuck at loading screen

why this always happened? i restart the game so many time. any suggestion

Go to single player first, load up, then go to online, worked for me many times

This is because GTAO runs on peer 2 peer instead of game servers. To load into an online lobby, your game (or client) needs to sync with every other player in that lobby. Meaning, that if you or just one of those players has a wobbly connection, your loading screen will take quite a while. Sometimes this can also cause a black loading screen to take forever when entering/exiting buildings in a populated online session.*

You can cut the initial startup short by first loading story mode, and from there start an online session. Of course, if you create an invite only or crew session you will immediately notice how smooth the game runs if you dont have to properly connect with other players in a lobby anymore.

If you do get stuck in a loading screen, its still possible to lag yourself out of whatever session that is keeping you locked in the loading screen. You can do this by stopping GTAV.exe in your windows task manager for about 10 seconds. After the 10sec you let GTAV.exe run again, and you should load into an empty online lobby for yourself. This is a well documented trick, you should be able to find a youtube vid on how to do it.
* This will fix the black loading screen issue aswell

try it many time but it doesnt work on mine. any other tips please?

How to stop GTAV.exe? I only have the option to end process

there is a possibility that you have been modded.

GTAO: 1.67 patched this.
In the versions before modders could FOR ANY REASON mess with your characters Rockstar Server Infos. They corrupt some specific data which leads to the user NEVER BEING ABLE AGAIN to play GTAO, Infinite Sky loading screen.

They maybe corrupted your account making it IMPOSSIBLE to join GTAO ever again.


Try contacting the R* support if you dont find ANY fixes, might be worth a try checking out.

It's not mods the game is horrible. Devs moved on to gta6 and left the PC version in a horrible state. I got it for free but hopefully people learn no to buy it. I've spent more time loading and reloading than playing.

Its the modders, their mods are messing up the server. You will never get stuck on loading screen if you join invite only. Sounds boring but its the only way I have found to play gta "online"

Try installing Process Explorer - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/process-explorer

Right click then option to suspend then resume after 10s

I have a similar issue so whenever I try to join GTA online, it always sends me back to the character screen which forces back into story mode. Should I try the same thing to fix it?

you can't fix it, it has been explained how it works above and what the actual issue is, Rockstar just won't spend time to fix it as GTA6 is "just around the corner"

its a reminder to go do your homework and help nana with raid shadow legends

(lol just start in story mode and then join friends only session)
