edit - Because it needs to be restated. Yes, they are making people 're-log' in. This has the side effect of ------ people with lost, stolen, 'hacked' / compromised accounts - are now finding out in large quantities. Many of these accounts could have been stolen YEARS ago - and you wouldn't know because steam just logged in. Just like when they changed username logins to email only - and piles upon piles of people had compromised accounts and had to jump through hoops to recover their accounts. Same thing.
edit - I'm sorry they don't work on 'your' time frame. I say hundreds/thousands - but reality it could be 10's of thousands. Toss in a side rdr2 issues on top, multi platform if viable + all the other tech support reasons. A side of security to try to verify that each of these instances are correct and not more social engineering.. I am absolutely 100% positive that the person making minimum wage, having to follow protocols also, just can't wait to be berated/mistreated by those that can't play their game. /s
Besides, the trouble is that they write back with meaningless messages, instead of getting to work and spending 1 minute to change the email.
They send dumb automatic messages instead of helping. They are Rockstar trolls, not Rockstar support.
I have the impression that they purposely spoil the game for people from launcher Steam to encourage them to the their launcher and increase sales on their own. Looking at what Take-Two is doing (broken remasters, removing mods that people worked on for years) I am able to believe it. Even though it sounds absurd.
And bot responses like "Thank you for contacting us" for 5 days are not ok....
Once my Steam account was stolen, Valve restored my access in 3 hours.... And that was on a Sunday.
And Rockstar? In 5 days 0 specifics just writing without meaning.
and had you gotten the email or kept it, read it whatever instead of ignoring it when it was changed the chinese email they sent you would have restored your account in minutes.
metlin2 seems to be a server based game, where as social club is peer2peer.
Besides, they could have added a form with the data you need to provide is account recovery in the case of Steam, instead of asking over and over again for the same thing and not reading your previous messages, in which the informations they ask for are long since sent.
It just takes work. But greedy Take-Two and Rockstar (despite the fact that it earns billions a year from gullible people who buy shake card) don't care about gamers, only $, as they show with their tolerance for cheaters and trilogy remasters: broken and buggy.
