.. and the copypasta on account recovery, forgotten/hacked accounts/deleted emails-
Fun times. Join the neverending flood of this nonsense. Much info - click and read -

tl;dr/lazy - use this link below to contact R* without logging in to RECOVER the already linked social club account/fix/change email to one you have access to. Many hoops to jump to prove you're the owner, have steam account, cdkey etc, and roll the dice on help-

Also, when you make a ticket - make sure to use a functional email, not the old one. They may ask you to confirm ownership of the email you used and not be explicit about it. Ask them to clarify if necessary. I also wouldn't use the word 'unlink' - as they have a different process for 'unlink' and that may confuse them. Just ask them to change the email on the social club account to one you have access to.
There's even live chat, or phone callbacks - IF they are enabled. You need a throw away social club account to access them as they require you to be logged into the website last time I checked. YMMV with those too.. obviously. People in late 2024 have stated they've not had success there, others have. If R* changed policy back to helping there - so be it. Look under product activation for the buttons.
/goodluck - for some it is a couple hours, others days/weeks, multiple tries.
No, just contact R*, and have them change the email. You have the game, the cdkey, the steam id - you can prove who you are, and they can help.
Livechat is quickest - More info in the link - #2 (3rd link -.-) is for livechat -
https://steamcommunity.com/app/271590/discussions/0/3282569322816201721/#c3282569322817162179 *livechat/chat ticket response is usually under 1-5 minutes. You have the steam account, the steamid, the cd key - you should be able to 'prove' who are you with that info. They will likely ask for it, and should be able to help you - that includes changing the email to one you can access.
/goodluck and all that
edit - Yes, the thread title says you entered the wrong email. The body says you linked the wrong social club account. That is 2 different problems - one they can fix, one they 'cannot'. (yay, me and speed reading thread titles and responding).
As for the 'no live chat' --- there are 3 options - chat ticket/live chat, web ticket (email), and callback (phone options). Unfortunately, you need to be logged into social club 'somehow' to see all 3. They've been helping fix EMAIL issues for years, and years. Again, email.
Linking/unlinking accounts, as you've learned - is a nope. There is 'possibly' the long email process to both steam and R* to get accounts deleted as mentioned above, and keys removed - with you likely needing to prove to steam you no longer have access to play with that key on R*. Others in the past have said they managed to get this done - after a couple weeks of email tag. Of course, always possible only signed into launcher itself, and never actually linked a gtav key but I digress - not enough clear info provided as to what/how/when/why it all went down, or other 'details' given.
Fun stuff. Oh well. Information provided is still completely valid for email change.
If they unlink the Steam account then I won’t be able to link another Social Club account to that Steam account.
There is no solution that Rockstar can provide unfortunately.
There is no live chat for Rockstar, they don’t use Steam support they use their own.
No live chat. No phone. Just emails that they take 6 hours to respond to.
And they can’t even fix the problem. Never had a CS for any game say ‘oops we can’t fix that’
rockstar can help you if you describe it as not unlinking your account but fixing the email
if you follow hsi links it will give you this page:

I’ve already refunded, Steam support is always good :)
Don't ask for a unlink, ask them to delete your Rockstar social club account, the whole process takes up to 2 weeks.
you prove you own the false email account by giving them images of your steam info. we see this all the time.
it really boggles my mind at how easy this should be and how hard you guys are making this.
In the end I found out on Reddit that I would need to unlink (so far taking 5 days), then refund the game (Steam refunded within an hour, they actually good service) then buy it again and it will then prompt me for a new rockstar account.
Rockstar cannot just switch the social club accounts. They aren’t capable for whatever reason. (I didn’t ask why haha)
rockstar does not take hours to respond to a chat ticket. ive used it myself in the past.
and yeah you can not swap accounts, you have to make them change the email to the right one.
If I had played the single player game more on Steam before trying to go online, I’d have been totally screwed haha
Yep so I am locked out. The social club account is incorrect. Switching the email does nothing.
I have no choice but to try the Reddit solution.
Rockstar support has told me they cannot fix it.
