How do you accidentally permanently remove the game from your library? There are literally several steps involved to do it so it was obviously intentional when you removed it.

You aren't recovering what you deleted. If you want to play the game again, you're going to have to bite the bullet and repurchase the game again.

Why bother though? You'd be supporting one of the most lazy ass companies on the planet that thrives on exploiting its customers. You're OK with that?

Unless you're going to play the campaign, online is absolutely not worth the wasted time or investment. Cheaters galore in multiplayer so unless you got lots of friends to play with in invite lobbies, you're in for a boat load of frustration and wasted time.

Good luck!

Steam games can't be deleted permanently from your library, support will deny your reguest.

You can only hide the game delete from your library temporarily but can always restore it.

So download the game again.

Not entirely true, but not entirely wrong either. Most games allow permanent deletion and I have done it with many games on Steam. There are however those games out there hosted by Steam that alas cannot be removed and it's infuriating - especially when you like to test beta/demo games and end up with a bunch of trash in your library because they were pulled from the Steam store and no longer available. Valve considers those games in our library nonexistent so hiding them is the only option.

So, if they did actually mange to delete it, it's gone. I checked my account to see and I can't remove my version so something may have changed in that period of time. Maybe it's regional dependent too I'm not too sure on that. Might have something to do with the Steam account being linked to Rockstar. I'm not really sure of that either, but it's a possibility.

@Player, if you're curious whether you hid the game or deleted it, open Steam, click the View > Hidden Games menu and you can see any hidden games you have. Maybe with some luck you didn't actually delete it, but hid it.

You can remove this game permanently by going to the support page and scrolling down a little and clicking that option. However the wording is such that there is no way someone can confuse removing the game with uninstalling the game.

The way i permanently deleted it was I was going to do a full reinstall because of openiv for mods (it was acting up so i needed a full reinstall), I deleted the rockstar app, then gta v but when uninstalling it it asked if it was going to permanently delete and i didn't know what to do about it so i did it and now every time I hit install on gta v i check the grand theft auto v folder and nothing is installing and it doesnt even install, so i kinda need a way to recover the files or do something about this,(i deleted it in file explorer, not steam) (and its in my library still, just not installed)

It downloads to a temp folder and moves to the correct location once done.
(steam / steamapps / downloading / 271690 IIRC)
