Are there still collectable items in the game? I can't see any info but a while back I'd collected nearly all the spaceship parts and the UI informed me.

Yeah, there is no way to see the total number in GTAV. Only GTAO has a counter.
Still, you often never know which ones you're missing, thus requiring to visit every location again anyway.

You could use this interactive map which allows you to tick off every single collectible that you found.

Alternatively, the "GTA Series Videos" channel on YouTube has excellent videos for everything, showing the detailed location and zoomed in map for easy discovery.
