Account hacked, unable to play games
Like many posts in here, a few days ago my social club account that had RDR2, GTA5, etc was hacked and the email and password changed. Thankfully I own these games on Steam so I still have them, I'm just unable to play them.

It's a nightmare trying to contact Rockstar about this, I've submitted a ticket but it's been days and they haven't yet replied. Has anyone else had this problem before?

why submit a ticket? you should listen to every psykoteky post made in all those other threads and use chat.

I already have used chat, they redirected me to submitting a ticket and pretty much turned my live chat with them into a support ticket.

maybe they no longer offer instant chat fixes over this common issue. and they are overloaded so they resort to this.
expect a week or two wait.

Who did you pay for recoveries or what did you download.

isn't this already 4 step through steam
looks like it is often only the email for the rockstar acc so, who knows what happened over there

people still often had their steam acc unaffected
maybe some hacker attack aimed straight at rockstar

They changed my account in Social club sharing the game through Steam for a week and no answers checking my email and nothing and using two-step verification and the mobile app... bad technical and support service....

I HAVE A FIX!!!!!!!

You may have a "new" account on rockstargames.com.

Login in to the new account on rockstargames.com.
Go to settings and change the E-mail to a different account that you own.
Go to your E-mail and find the E-mail change message and click restore.
Enter and new password, and the account is yours.

This happened to me yesterday and finally figured this out.

Sadly the person who hacked me signed my account up to another Rockstar account. Then changed my e-mail. This is just a mess. Doubt I'll touch any Rockstar games again if they don't get their security sorted.

Their security? you are the one who did not secure your account correctly. Not rockstars fault at all. This is all on you and your security measures when setting up a account. You need to watch what your doing is more like it. Could be a virus on your PC, you handed out your password for recoveries, unsecure passwords on email, lots of ways you can open yourself to a attack like this. Funny you blame this on Rockstar, you don't see everyones account randomly getting hacked. Because some people secure their account and take measures to avoid these thinhgs.

and you rockstar account cannot be signed up for another account, which in no way makes any sense. They can change your email tied to the account, but you can easily recover this mistake you made.

Have you not been reading the news over the past years about how bad Rockstars backend security is? I had all the all the safety features possible on that account and it still got hacked. Have you not read any of the Rockstar forums or even looked on Twitter to see how many peoples accounts this has been happening to?
