How to idle without getting kicked for inactivity?

I've heard that previewing decor options for your CEO office doesn't kick you, but I tried that and it kicked me. I also heard that viewing security cameras in your nightlub woorks, but that requires the otherwise usless securoty upgrade that I don't have. Any other options?

If you enter LS Car Meet and take out a car into the underground track (doesn't matter if it's your own car or one of those showcase cars for test drive), and then head back to the ramp to exit the track.

When the game asks you if you want to Enter the LS Car Meet or Exit LS Car Meet, you stay on that screen and it shouldn't kick you.

It'll also keep giving you LS Car Meet reputation points over time.

The night club security camera works as well. Basically just choose the watch the security camera option, then afk.

i used to do this when grinding carmeet rep afk in carmeet walking in circles in public lobby

Oh I had no idea! My sincere apologies if it has been patched, it appears to be working for me still.

I just tested this after your post, lingered just shy over 40 minutes idling on the ramp gate screen and my character is still staring at the gate like a dork!

I had merely read a complaint about the exploit being patched, but never tried once hearing about it. Thanks for the info, I'll edit my comment .

you should be using controller on pc, you get so much better control when flying, why wouldnt you use it instead of hurting yourself

without assistance, Mouse & Keyboard have way better aim than an analog stick.. and I have no problem flying with keyboard.. I think those that do just have coordination issues, or lack an extended num-pad on their keyboard..

I think I lack the coordination then I can fly with keyboard but can't make a smooth landing with it

I have no problem flying with keys. Bought a controller a couple years ago and I just can't do anything with it. Driving is OK, flying would probably be OK too, but walking and shooting - impossible.

There are tons of software that can do it. For example, Autohotkey. And I think it's enought to just tap any button or move the mouse every couple minutes.

I mean that you can write autohotkey script that would tap a button every couple minutes. No special keyboard required. And more importantly, you can tell it to send mouse or keyboard events to the specific window, that way GTA can be in the background and you are free to use your PC in the meantime.

For what it's worth, I'm playing on borderless windowed. I believe that has a big impact on it cause it tricks the game from the 2-minutes idle kick, but it doesn't trick it from the 13-minutes idle kick unless done as the method mentioned above. (I always ALT+TAB from GTA when idling)

Try setting it to borderless windowed or just windowed and see if it works.

You only need to test this for 15 minutes, anything past that is irrelevant as the game strictly doesn't want you to ALT+TAB for 2 minutes or idle for 13 minutes.

I'm running windowed (not borderless, a regular window), will pay attention, thank you. Usually it wants to kick me after 2 minutes, and I was wondering what's with the varying timeout, thx for the explanation and for the advice!
