lol! Yeah I think it is the same as before. Just don't abuse it and run 3 runs in a hour or such. The timing seems to be different when to pull the plug, but it should still work, as it is a game mechanic they will not get rid of. Just not worth the risk in my eyes.
never heard of anyone being banned for it, but they do not give reasons either

No. I couldn't make it work. Some people say it works if you get elite challenge and clear the safe in the Rubio's office, but I tried that and it didn't work. The are 3 possibilities now: the heist doesn't reset but you get no money; you get money but the heist resets (is completed); or you get no money and it still resets - this sucks, and happened to me twice. Just the fact that I've got these 3 outcomes tells me the glitch is likely no longer possible.

ive got already no money and no reset, but at last try i completed heist so yea, i think its not working

since it is so difficult to do it seems to me that it is completely unprofitable, you will try 3-4 times where during this time you could do anything else to earn some money

If it would just fail to both pay you and complete the heist, then that depends on how many attempts are needed. But if it keeps resetting the heist and not giving you money - then absolutely, it's not worth it.

Pity about the newly extended 3 hour cooldown, though.

There used to be a garage money bug where you bought a garage, joined a new server and sold it and got about 2 million. They fixed this bug within a few hours. I made around 100 million that way and it only took me around 30 minutes (it was on an old acc so don't bother reporting). And then there are countless bugs that have been there for years without attention, even though some of them can be pretty annoying.

Rockstar will only pay attention to what threatens Shark Cards purchases, and since Cayo is the easiest way to make money, there is a high chance that they fixed it. Also possible that they brought the "no weapons after restart" bug intentionally.
