Times has dramatically changed. The PC has by far the biggest player base now. Combine the fact that GTA VI will be current gen only and there is no reason to ignore the biggest market at day 1. Rockstar prioritizes the biggest player base, and that is the PC now.

the average user can't even play gtavi with their hardware. however the console owners should all be able to without upgrading and without jumping through hoops. the pc market is still not big dog.

Steam has a bigger player base than either PSN and Xbox Live. We are talking about all the systems from each generation that are using PSN and Live. 2 years ago Steam reached 120 million monthly active users. Why would Rockstar focus on 38 million PS5, and 21 million Xbox Series X/S users when there are 120+ million monthly active users on Steam?

Makes no sense. They care about what makes them the most money and the PC will make by far the most money when the game will be released.

Check the sales of GTA V, Elden Ring or a lot of other games on SteamSpy. Both sold between 20 million and 50 million. You can't compare the Steam/PC user base in 2023 to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S player base. It's night and day.
