IMA still a better game but dated
just grab some Hot Coffee and play anyway you want with lots of well made mods like skyrim
The reboot of the franchise was not only a mistake, but the direction they took made it so much worse... All missions are boring except for the Heists, the story's generic and the lack of focus due to packing 3 characters into a carousel wheel fks up story and gameplay...
GTA:O is a official "we suck at our job" if you know GTA:SA Online mod... Basically, it's a overrated cash-cow made for milking money, and the Story Mode's just a "bait" to lure ppl into Online - truth of it all is that this game's a disaster if analyzed critically in comparison to it's predecessors. As is, GTA San Andreas remains the best of the franchise in all aspects, sadly it's dated engine fail to keep it alive, but if they were to remake the game identical to the original within RDR2 updated Engine, I doubt anybody would even remember 5 after it's release, as long as it carried less bugs than 5 did on release.
btw: most critically acclaimed games that are spawned under such massive budgets, curiously, always are "critically acclaimed". Truth is that critics for games are mercenaries, and if they were to make real criticism, they'd be unable, they lack the knowledge to properly assess quality in gaming at all times - journalists don't understand the basics of Game Design or Game Development to be able to utter a single word about it. They always go for "personal tastes" (subjectivity) and play the praise cards even when games are completely dysfunctional, basically they are shills, paid by publishers or coerced by their bosses, but the last thing they are able to do is their job - if you want serious reviews you must stick to "amateurs" outside the outlets, and even those are tricky to track, because most YT losers are under publishers pockets anyway - And when the "praise wagon members" rarely speak ill of a game, it's because the devs / publishers refused to bribe them, so they bash it, even if it's a masterpiece...
Best assessment of game quality, today, is to follow those who speak ill of the game, these guys will raise the negatives and than you can properly judge if you can cope with it or not.
GTA 5? I skipped it (the truth), and acquired it on a whim recently because it was on sale and I was bored to death with other games - so far, all I feel is boredom with hints of anger towards the Design of the game - it's extremely annoying, with almost zero replay value - it feels like riding through a "anime" purely made of "filler episodes".
- Walking is weird (half turn), difficult to be precise in small movement (unless you aim)
- Lots of tiny walls you can't climb
- Driving is weird, really easy to lose control, bump physic sucks. Easy to miss checkpoints.
- Online interface is trash, they should have done FiveM
- Graphics are old (lots of shadows and popping issues)
Fortnite is better for movement.
Forza is better for driving.
GTA is best for content and vehicles
Most seems to hate last update while i love it :
Raiju and Avenger are awesome, controls have been improved on controller.
I do not know if this is the best game ever made, but it's most certainly one of them.
old game good, new game bad
