It's only an IP address who cares

Why would it, ip obfuscation has not been implemented and the support has been abandoned. They work on 6 and do not more than some simple updates. Imagine why its crashing to so many people randomly.

why would your ip address need to be masked? and an ip adress isn't an "important document" of any kind so you aren't getting "doxed"

well for one it would stop salty script kiddies booting you offline with a ddos.
happened a couple times to me when they used to be able to invade private sessions. they got mad cos i blocked them out my session with port blocking so they then resorted to other means.

Well some people don't like when you can curtail where they are living. Getting attacked through the net can happen to everyone and easier if programs, such as gta just share network information, rather than masking them.

you can not curtail where anyone is living via ip address. you can get your ip addresses location which is usually one to two towns over. if its the same town only you can know this. and its still not where you live...

Uh, what lmao. Yea ok i'll just ring up my internet provider to sort out a new IP all because a game i play didn't bother to take basic security precautions lmao. Nice play. What do you want me to do, get a new IP every time? You crack me up dude.

no p2p game has ip obfuscation so i dont think its possible.

its not crashing people randomly. modders are spawning in broken npcs that crash people.

see above. there is no such thing as p2p ip obfuscation. every p2p game shares your ip address with the host so you can connect to them.

and usually if you want a new ip, a power cycle of 2-30mins is usually sufficient.

Yet other games have managed to do it. Someone was telling me about a different game which uses simple IP masking. Can't remember which one, i'll have to do a bit of digging to find the post.
VPN's also exist which, guess what, mask your IP. So i#m pretty sure a game can also mask an IP since this technology already exists.

i would like to know what game that is, search for it by all means, you will find nothing of people saying games should support it.

you cant mask a vpn ip though.

Well unfortunately i don't have time to go digging through hundreds of posts. Ask around at the latest call of duty forums though, pretty sure that game has some simple IP masking.

From google:
Can someone get your IP from CoD?
no. You can only get the ip of the game server not the ip that goes within the game server, unless your admin of the server.

funny because i found the exact opposite and it took me less time and effort to do so.
can't post it here because it discloses how to do it and that would prob hit me with ban.

but its nice to know that even that p2p game isn't safe.
