Stuck on "Entering Online"
For a few days now, I have been completely unable to get into GTA Online. Story mode loads up in about 2 minutes with no problem. I have tried launching straight to GTA Online, where I never get past the different background images that cycle through, and if I go to story mode and then load online from there, it is stuck in the clouds and I don't believe it even showed a loading icon. I have tried suspending GTA5.exe for a few seconds from the Resource Monitor, verifying the integrity of the game files, completely reinstalling, and moving the game to another drive. Does anyone have any tips of what I could try to fix it? Thanks.

EDIT 2/28/2023:

GTA had an update today, and I was able to load into online no problem!

as far as i know, u are being connected to china players that are using vpn, that's why u are stuck on loading screen (i might be wrong)

if u really want to play in public session
-first, restart your modem/router
-disconnect any devices which are connected to your router/modem
-if possible, use ethernet cable instead of wifi card
-disable all unrelated apps to gtav which require internet connection and dont do any online activities such as downloading, streaming etc during online loading screen

Same thing happens whether I try to join a public session, or an invite only session. I'll try resetting the router and stuff next time I work with the game. I also tried it with my antivirus turned off in case that was causing an issue, and that wasn't it.

Here are some suggestions that may not help but sometimes do. I'd try these before anything else when GTA5 is acting up.

Start by uninstalling both the R* Launcher and Social Club using WIN UNINSTALL VIA the Control Panel. It's not the same as simply deleting some folders.

Next take a few minutes and update your Audio Driver, sometimes it's the one nobody thinks about, it might be very old, and regardless of what anybody here says ... just check it out.

Validate the game files through your STEAM Library.

Go online and see if you can log into your R* Social Club account prior to re-start.

Now restart the game VIA your STEAM Library, you should get prompts from the Launcher re-installing.

Considering the fact so many people have this problem so often maybe the problem should not be looked for at the client network or pc or game

I feel you. Strange thing is my brother’s PC is in the same room and plugged into the same router, and it works fine for his.

Thanks for the tips! I’ll give them a try later, and I’ll let everyone know if I get it fixed and what fixed it for me
