Cayo heist bugged or.....?????

OK So I was finishing up the Cayo heist and I hopped into the water to swim away just as I had done on all my previous escapes and this last time was odd. No matter how far I swam the heist never ended I then ended up dying and was back on land I died again just to reset the escape and same thing hopped into the water and nothing the heist would not end despite it saying to escape Cayo.

I then swam all the way to the airport end and tried the airplane which was my selected escape manor but even that was odd I hopped in and it said I needed to goto the control tower and disable air defense so I did that and successfully hacked that and hopped back in and again it said I needed ti disable it despite pavel already saying it was disabled. On top of that the airplane would not steer would only go straight ahead which put it into the woods never had this with other aircraft outside the heist.

I then tried a 3rd time and this time swimming away worked.

Anyone else ever have these things happen during the heist??

Was doing it solo.

Since Feb 2nd? If not then it's still bugged

No you can still do it. But sometimes if you go to deep or you go too far it will kill you. To avoid this swim east a bit and follow the island. Once the heli gives up then it will trigger the end at some point.

Have you tried this today by chance? I have gotten to the swim escape part 4 times so far and no matter what I do, I cannot get off of the island and will eventually hit the boundary and take damage. Curious if this was actually patched or not.

I did it last night and there hasn't been a patch between last night and today. And I ran into the same issue you did long before any of the security updates. So I do not think it has been patched rather I think there is an area you have to be in for the end to trigger. The game sites say just swim out and done but they are completely wrong (as usual). There are times where you are out of bounds and it will kill you. Swimming west will most certainly trigger it AFTER Rubio gives up on you in his heli. I actually tried to blow up his heli on the ground and the game won't let you. So this is a scripted portion of the heist and it must complete before the ending will trigger.

Thanks for the heads up. I had it working fine last night, so was puzzled why it has failed so many times today. I'll give it another go later, but I was roughly midpoint (left-right) at the bottom of the island and couldn't escape. An attack boat was triggering (didn't yesterday) and would circle around above me with Rubio so could never 'de-aggro'

I'll see what if I can maybe try to jump the bike into the water a bit more to the west to see if I can avoid the attack boat aggro. Curious if that is the cause of my issues.

I will say it is pretty glitchy overall and have ran into the same things in my attempts. Sometimes it triggers without me expecting it and sometimes I'm sitting there wondering when it is going to trigger.

There are 3 sea mines close together just off the cliff to the south-west of the lowest edge of the Cayo map. Swim into their area and the mission will complete. Swim anywhere else and you can find yourself waiting 5 minutes to get the mission complete to pop up.

the video is one year old it may help certain players to get the right location while i agree exit won't trigger if you swim too deep for example

it is still possible that things might have changed as so often in the past
good old yellow circle issue comes instantly to my mind for delivery missions or during this act2 stromberg prep mission

Drive bike straight to the end , jump off the cliff ,swim straight until you come to the last sea line ,than swim 45 degrees right .
Tested it today,still working .

when this happened to me I was in this area as i always depart the island the same general area every time. It happened to me twice then the 3rd time I was able to complete. It only happened this one time to me and I have done the mission again since then without issue but clearly some players are having issues with this bug or glitch or whatever you want to call it.

Not saying the mission can't be completed just saying this issue pops up from time to time still.

I never had that issue by playing solo , and I played 200 + Cayo runs .
Its probably network issue when you playing with friends ( like bug in act 2 doomsday prep ,as Cruste said ).
Also , bugs transfered from Public can make this happens .
Next time if you run into same problem ,restart PC .

I never had that issue by playing solo , and I played 200 + Cayo runs .
Its probably network issue when you playing with friends ( like bug in act 2 doomsday prep ,as Cruste said ).
Also , bugs transfered from Public can make this happens .
Next time if you run into same problem ,restart PC .

I was running Solo as mainly run it solo as no need to schedule time to run it with friends and such
