GTA 5 & Directx12

Hello,

I recently got a new gaming laptop and installed GTA 5 to play the online mode with some friends. However, I can't launch the game due to my PC being on directx 12 which is not supported. You can only run GTA 5 on direct x 11, 10 or 9 I think. Is there anyway to bypass this or downgrade to direct x 11 to play GTA? I have searched online and nothing fixed this issue.

I also saw posts about how people need to be patient and wait for Rockstar to make GTA 5 compatible with direct x 12, but those posts were in 2015. So I highly doubt that will happen soon or at all.

Just thought I would mention, I'm not particularly good with computers! So if you can try to keep any help to relatively simple computer terms that would be of great help!

thats not the problem you are having, dx12 contains all dll's for previous dx versions. can you explain your error?

Hey thanks for the reply, I opened GTA 5 again so that I could copy paste the error message in here and the game suddenly is launching. I'm not sure exactly what went wrong the first 10 times I tried to launch the game but it seems to work now.
