I mean a decent bit of it from friend's ps3 ans xbox 360. Generally there are improvements overall in all aspects of gameplay. But it's just another GTA game, rockstar is just playing it safe as usual.
Doesn't matter he will know if the game is poorly optimized or not, or anything funky like weird pop in. Stuff that would cause universal problems on pc.
For games from companies with bad reputations, like Ubisoft, yes, definitely a bad idea to pre-order. However, this game has already been released on consoles and is from a very respectable developer. Pre-ordering Grand Theft Auto V is completely safe.
R* doesn't have a stellar rep on PC. GTA 4/EFLC & L.A. Noire were horrible ports and unoptimized. Took 2 years of patches, over powered hardware, & mod'er to make GTA4/eflc playable. MP3 was R* only game to be amazingly optimized for PC, because it wasn't a port. Now I do have hope that GTA 5 will be great (also run like a beast), but still no excuse to preorder. I think its foolish, before you find out how buggy it is or isn't.
He is an elitist pompous pc gamer for sure. But he's honest, entertaining, & makes some good points occasionally. But I do find his rig to be way overkill lol. I mean 2 titans good lord what a waste of cash.
Both of those games were ports, and were released when the RAGE engine was still kind of new. Grand Theft Auto V isn't a port, just like Max Payne 3 wasn't.
For me it's not a foolish purchase. I'd much rather play it on PC on the lowest settings than play it on any of the consoles, and I know many others here feel the same way. PC will be the superior platform no matter how it is optimized.
For a lot of games it is foolish to pre-order before you know how the game plays. In my opinion, this is not one of those games. The only people who should be worried about pre-ordering are the people who aren't sure if their PC can handle it.
