I'm gettting a message that Rockstar games services is unavailable when i join GTA online? Any idea what is happening?

Usually it means that the game service server for your region is down for maintenance and you should just be patient. these things dont run on magic.

its showing rockstar server status, if the service is green it means nothing is wrong on rockstars end.
youve ruled out dns issues. perhaps you are having routing issues. try power cycling your modem and/or router for 5-10 mins.

It's not connection. Your game likely crashed (i.e. cheaters) and your local files got corrupted. Delete pc_settings.bin in \Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\Profiles\Numbers\

Verified local files and they are ok.

I did not do anything and now it is working. I think it was some connection issue and not due to file corruption. Thanks for the input guys. Appreciate it.

could be dns server disturbance, can solved by using different servers like the google server

it is also possible that the government decides to shutdown your internet if there is civil unrest in your region, many do this nowadays
