Potential malware from today's update

I downloaded today's patch 1 file failed to register and was seen as malware so naturally i don't want it.
now i can't enter the game because it wont update this failed file.
please proceed with caution and tell me your opinions.

This ♥♥♥♥♥♥ software creates so many false positive and still blocks software with exception rules

but you are super secure, some people like to watch their games in the library others prefer to play

You should white list & add exceptions to games on the antivirus, then either reinstall or verify game files to allow it to update the necessary stuff.

For whatever reason, I can't seem to do that. Whenever I try to do this, it tells me to contact the network administrator. Unless Rockstar fixes the issue themselves, I'm gonna have to outright uninstall the game and never return to GTA 5

rockstar can't help you if you aren't admin. and rockstar does not have to appease some random av for you.

you're joking right? i guess you must never visit shady places on the internet because i use ESET (the only one i've ever used that doesn't slow down my system) and it catches stuff left and right.

i've personally never experienced Windows Defender pick up anything. it's better than nothing but that's not saying much

If you're gonna pay for an antivirus, use a proper one like ESET. I do agree that Windows Defender is enough for most people, or no antivirus at all if you know what not to download and run etc.

Update: while doing the new mission it crashes mid way through because i cant skip the intro i have to wait! any suggestions?

Anti-virus are NOT necessary if YOU know what your doing, otherwise you should use the best Anti-virus that you can get but do not expect it to make your computer problem-less because it won't at all be the solution you think it will be, it never is.

Ever since i stop using any kind of anti-virus, most of all my computer problems ended and stayed that way for 12+ years now and its still counting on. when your smart enough and know where to not go and what to not download anti-virus won't be ever be needed.

Antivirus are Obsolete when you have the right knowledge just like, the right knowledge makes the lack of knowledge Obsolete. you may need to have fairly good knowledge to understand what i'm saying.

What is really Funny is that with your mindset, your right when you do not have the right knowledge, you should have something that creates more problems in order to teach you a ton of lessons for you to have better user habits.
The lack of knowledge will always make people complain one way or another and make them spread their delusional mindset like your doing.

I tell people the hard truth which people like you forget that, Malware is NOT the blame for most computers problems especially these days, The user is, you have no idea how true that is. Learn to accept that or don't and stay blind to your mindset or learn the right knowledge and live mostly computer problem free for years to come. you choice.

Apple computers have less problems than window's computers for a long time if that says anything. Its common knowledge. most of apple computer problems started after people started to use antivirus protections more.

If people are being honest they can fixed most of their computer problems by learning what not to do on a computer which will make all malware protections Obsolete, then and only then most of your problems will go away just as long you have the right knowledge. Knowledge is my protection and has worked very well for me for years now.

I will never use something that will cause more problems than any virus will ever create.

Fact is antivirus are the solution people THINK they are and can and will cause more problems then any malware will ever create short term and long-term really.

I know from my years of experiences that if you learn and know enough, its a fact that the user creates most of their problems, not virus/malware at all. Computers NEVER create the problems without the user. so fix the user fix the problems.

Fact is more than most of computers problems are because of the user's actions, if you know what your doing most of your computer problems are ended.

If you know what you are doing and where not to go and what to NOT download, you do NOT need any kind of antivirus. yes i said it before and i still say it.

He is NOT spreading misinfo when he saids his opinions but i guess who cares about that.

Opinions are NEVER misinfo, they are what the person feels is right in their eyes.

in my opinion Windows defender is the best antivirus for people who use common sense enough to NOT need an antivirus but can't live without one.

The best antivirus is one that don't even exist at all anywhere.

Yeah exactly, Windows defender really does a good job on it's own. I used to use Malwarebytes etc aswell but I dont see a reason anymore.

And for OP its obviously a false positive. Ditch the antivirus youre using.

Yeah I have the same damn problem, some sort of error is currently preventing me from playing, same malware crap. Tried reinstalling the game, and the error won't let me finish the installation, and I'm not smart enough to figure out how to fix it. Also cursed with Webroot useless bloody thing, so I'm right outta luck.
