Any way to transfer Gta V game save from rockstar version to steam

I bought the non steam version of gta 5 and now i want the steam version. I plan to give my friend the non steam version (rockstar) and get GTA V from steam. Are the game saves files the same? like can i transfer my saves from the non steam version to the steam version? or would i have to restart the whole story and online character?

I believe Social Club is managing save files in any version Steam or Retail.
Anyway I have Steam version and saves are still here:
\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\Profiles

what about the story saves? are they the same?

the story saves are in the directory mentioned by Vilkikai,

They should be the same for the steam and RSC version, however i have not tested them myself since i do not own the RSC version.

The online progress is saved on Rockstars servers, and to my knowledge cannot be copied.

Im pretty sure you can transfer it, the game saves are identical because gta v opens its own folder

Yeah, I spent yesterday the whole night searching for a 100 % answer, and have seen a LOT of mixed opinions, some say its not possible some say they think its possible....I cant believe there is no CLEAR answer for this, or maybe I didnt search enough...

However, I bought the STEAM version as a gift, and I'll check it by myself. In the end, it seems, this is the only precise solution - to pay.

When downloading Gta 5 on either steam or from rockstar, the save is made in your documents. So im pretty sure they are the same files. I dont think you'll have a problem transfering your save because when loading up gta v from steam it also opens your rockstart social thing.
