Keeping a helmet on

I've been playing gta v a bit after it first came out (first on the ps3) and I've taken mutliple breaks from it since then. Just yesterday I started playing it again and I noticed that the helmet my character wears keeps getting taken off (when I die, when I enter my apartment, etc.) so I thought something might've happened in an update. Is there a way to make it so that my helmet stays on?

I make an "outfit" including the helmet on and I don't recall it being removed after death, etc. Sometimes if it does get removed, then it's a quick fix to apply the outfit again.

Personally I'd really like to be able to wear helmets in vehicles, especially race themed vehicles like the Trophy Truck I've been waiting for. I know there's room in the cab because after races the game has dropped me in my truck WITH helmet on and theres tons of head room, no clipping.

im able to keep my helmet in every vehicle,but if u die in it then its lost
