Is this assembled comp?.
Nah its a bought computer from the store. Dell Laptop 64 bit
Anyway, as for the problem i haven't done much in the way of mods for gta v but is this fps boosting mod client side only? If it doesn't send anything to the server it should be fine. Don't quote me on that but it should be. I'll look into a bit as I'm kinda curious what mods I could use without being banned now xD.
Edit: so from what I could find it does seem to be safe to use. Rockstar has even said that graphical enhancement mods will not get you banned. And on the technical side of why it wouldn't, I was able to find something from another steam user on an older post explaining it.
To quote steam user H3X on May 8, 2015 in steam forum post (https://steamcommunity.com/app/271590/discussions/0/613957600529725380/?ctp=2) on the second page of the fourm post.
"I posted an explanation of this in another thread a couple days ago; the reason that SweetFX/Reshade is safe to use is because the game's anti-cheat isn't scanning for a .dll file as such, but it's scanning for modifications to the allocated memory assigned to the game process (or an attempt at it).
The easiest way to do that is to hook into it using a .dll but having the anticheat scan the game folder for any and every file that may or may not belong would be a nightmare to code, and more of a brute force method than is really necesarry. What if it crashdumps, or steam places a manifest file they didn't account for, for example?
That aside, Reshade/SFX has a .dll hook, but only for the DirectX rendering call between the game and the Windows OS. It's basically tagged on after rendering has been completed for a given frame as a global post processing effect, so no allocated memory is ever really modified and the game runs exactly as it would without the effects as far as the software is concerned.
That's exactly why things like MSI Afterburner and RTSS don't trigger the same result. It's also why the steam overlay won't capture SFX in use, because it's hooked into rendering earlier in the sequence than the post processing shaders are applied."
And, a response from Rockstar on graphical mods.
https://www.reddit.com/r/GrandTheftAutoV_PC/comments/3482c0/rockstars_response_to_my_inquiry_if_fov_mods_are/
So that's what I could find on the topic. (Did more than two searches, these were just the best I could find. Others match up with these :) )
All mods are strictly forbidden in GTA Online. This article http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/52451/update-targeting-cheaters-in-gta-online from Rockstar makes it perfectly clear. Specifically, here is the quote...
"As a reminder, any attempt to tamper with the behavior of GTA Online by installing or executing mods, scripts, or other exploits, modifying the game files or manipulating the game in any way while it is executing will result in disciplinary action including but not limited to time in the cheater pool, bans and potential suspension of your account."
The article you referred to from Reddit is extremely old and is a comment from one mis-informed support person. Rockstar has since clarified their position
Anyway, what we really need is a specific address on this from rockstar. The only thing we have on reshade is old and the only thing they talk about lately is cheating. Someone needs to get in touch with rockstar and find out specifically about reshades over cheats. As they are not the same thing at all, hell, even the application process is different.
Thank You man, atleast I know its OK to play this fps mod in GTA Online.. I think?
If something does happen I'll just call rockstar that I'm using "Sweet FX" maybe a representive might be familar with it.
It doesn't matter what your philosophy is and what you think Rockstar should do. Rockstar has made their position clear: "...modifying the game files or manipulating the game in any way while it is executing will result in disciplinary action including but not limited to time in the cheater pool, bans and potential suspension of your account." Contrary to what others have said, Rockstar's anti-cheat system scans the game folders, before entering GTA Online, to find any unauthorized files and bans accordingly. They have chosen to take a zero tolerance and brute force method to curtail the use of mods, graphical or otherwise.
Just proceed with caution, if you do end up banned for it give rockstar a call and talk it through, if it comes to it just remove it. It's not worth a perma-ban.
