how do i access bennys garage?

I have the cars but I cant get it. Do I have to buy that car through bennys?

first low rider mission then you can tune the cars there

if you drive up to bennys it should start the mission
or just join somone elses mission
when missions come up in the game phone they are the yellow ones

I figured it out. I went to the Lamar mission then backed out and I got access to bennys garage.
