Car Upgrades Explained... Hopefully
How do the upgrades work? Because there seems to be now way to upgrade top speed, braking or traction. Every upgrade seems to only affect acceleration, and what do you do once that is maxed out? If you have 5 bars in acceleration, are all the other upgrades pointless? As in your car can no longer be upgraded since acceleration is full and there is no way to upgrade anything else besides aesthetics... Please correct me if I'm wrong. All help is appreciated thank you to everyone in advance!

The bars represent the cars potential, not a relative measurement between cars. Nothing will upgrade a cars top speed, they are capped when they are designed into the game. ACC, Brakes and Grip can be modified a bit, to the cars maximum potential, with parts that are unlocked via leveling up or completing races.

Alright, thanks for clearing that up.

Acceleration will still increase even with the bar at max. A car without turbo but everything else at max will have a max acceleration stat but will be significantly slower than a car with all that AND turbo. It's mainly because turbo and engine are the only upgrades that has any effect on actual acceleration. Transmission upgrades reduces the time it takes to shift gears, adding to the acceleration effect indirectly. Lowering your car reduces air resistance and helps with achieving a higher top speed as well.

Perfect thank you! But I have to ask, when u say "everything else at max" you are talking about upgrades related to acceleration right? Sorry, I'm a bit sleepy, probably just not reading it right, but could you clear up the first part about how the turbo works? Thanks very much.
EDIT: I just reread that ( for the third time 😂) and finally understood what you are getting at... Thing is my engine upgrade is at EMS level 2, and I have no turbo, I don't have maxed out suspension or transmission but the acceleration bar is still full...? Something seems wrong here...
