To all the "banned for no reason" people
Rockstar bans people randomly because their algorithms suck and they can't or won't bother to hire actual human beings (GMs), to check into that. Don't let the fanboys who roam the ban threads tell you otherwise. I know for 100% certain that I never cheated or modded in multiplayer, and I would be ready to swear an oath on that in court. Only Rockstar (or not even them, themselves) knows what they tempbanned me for, twice. And they couldn't be arsed to give their reasons, either time.

Good luck on trying to appeal. I bet you'll just get the standard automated message. No human will even bother reading what you write into it.

Only thing you can do, except sit the ban out, and hope you don't get randomly banned forever after R* screws up on you for the third time?

Do not ever spend a single cent on any Rockstar game again in future. That's what.

Hard, I know, because their games are well and rightly known to be the benchmark for singleplayer open world masterpieces.

But fact is, Rockstar SUCKS at running Multiplayer games. GTA is, and should forever have remained, a single player game; they have clearly gotten in way over their heads with this game.

GTA Online, great as it may have been in the hands of a competent company (I sure did have fun in it, for a number of hours well into the three-digits range, and would have rated it 9/10 without the debacle that is random bans and airquote-"customer support"), should never have been made, and has forever tainted Rockstar's image in my eyes.

P.S.: To those of you that did cheat and are lying about it, which I obviously can't rule out completely... f*** you. Scum like you are the reason why Rockstar can't just switch their algorithms off and be done with it, even if it victimizes honest players along the way. Hope you can live with looking yourselves in the eye.

Bans for nothing lawl.

You get banned for cheating, exploiting, or taking nodded money.

Accidents are an extremely rare case. Most of these pepile making these threads are just upset they got caught and want sympathy. Serve your ban and next time don't do it I say.

Fanboy #1, as expected.

Indeed, next time I won't do it. GTA VI won't land in my game library.

Hey InsaneMystic, how did you complete all 10 waves of survival an hour and 15 minutes after you first got onto GTA Online? Took out all those cops with the default pistol, did ya?

As you said, ban is handled by algorithm. So you were ban for something, otherwise me and 99% of ppl were baned too.

Emm... nobody can forbid you to play this missions with leveled players.
InsaneMystic Jun 21, 2016 @ 3:05pm
No, by playing in a team with people who were better players, higher leveled, and better equipped than me.

Also, even Rockstar wouldn't be incompetent enough to ban you 100+ hours after you'd cheat in a survival mission.

Try harder. Next fanboy, please!

That which can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence. So, proof or gtfo.

Once you're flagged that's it. Bans don't always come the same day. They rarely do, as far as I can tell. Could be a week later, could be a month later. Sometimes they don't hit until the game updates again and they do a full sweep.

Which is why all civilized countries go by "guilty until proven innocent".

Next!

Interesting to know. Doesn't explain what I was "flagged" for, though.

I hear you InsaneMystic. It's as if some of these people find R*'s automated judgement to be infallible. Taking modded money? Try having it forced on you. When a hacker can appear in your car, force you out of your car, then proceed to shower you with money bags the only thing you can do is log out. If that gets your account tagged and then banned then R* truely failed because legitimate players are being banned because of hackers and modders.

As to the pervailing attitude that whoever is complaining about being banned for no reason probably deserves it, I'll point you to the Salem witch trials.

I've had my account since PS3. I migrated to PC. That means I paid for the game 2 times. Now my account is wrongfully banned twice with the possibility of being permanently locked, all the while everyone is going around with full faith in R*'s automated judgement.

Yes, I whole heartedly agree. If this is the standard the R* is setting for their future endeavors into online territory then they have one less customer to worry about.

I understand the hate and vitriol towards the hackers and modders but it must be realized that there are legitimate players being banned for no good reason out there. I am not a cheater, I did not use hacks in online or single player. I have never had a hack or cheat installed for GTA on my machine ever. I've had two experiences with a hacker and modded money being forced upon me. These things I could not control. These things should not be my responsibility to control and I certainly shoudl not be punished because R* doesn't know how to properly police their game.

I joined a survival match shortly after going online and made it to level 10 no problem. You usualy dont play survival alone you know.

It boggles my mind on the amount of fanboys that kiss up to Rockstar. There are a lot of players that do not cheat or mod the multiplayer aspect of GTAO. To the OP, let my share my recent hacker experience. Three of my buddies and I were gathering stock for the warehouse and lo and behold, a random hacker appeared. After taking a barrage of HE shells from the Valkyrie to the face, the dishonourable hacker shot us down with a homing missle. At first, i thought it was just lag. Then, I emptied a box clip on him and the wasn't dying. I'm starting to think that this cheating scum in GTAO are the same people that kiss up to Rockstar and giving us players a bad reputation and community as a whole. Then again, since when was this community good to begin with.

Accidents are an extremely rare case. Most of these pepile making these threads are just upset they got caught and want sympathy. Serve your ban and next time don't do it I say.

And how do you respond to a situation that took place over a year ago, that developed outside of my knowledge or intention. To that as well, I was banned once just about a month ago, after the first 15 days I played for another 2 days before a second ban was placed on my account. At this rate the 3rd ban will hit after July 17th, locking me out permanently. I can't get ahold of an actual person to explain to me what the reason is because of their automated system. So how can I "Serve my ban and next time don't do it" when I can't even find out wtf I did and have now been banned twice for seamingly no reason other than the possiblility that there was contact with a hacker/modder over a year ago.

This is absolute garbage. If you truly believe all these people complaining are actual cheaters then I have a bridge to sell you. If you think it's ok that R* can ban anyone for anything simply because automated metrics detect... something that seems like cheating regardless of the menutia surrounding the situation, then you lack the ability of critical thinking and I mourn for your posterity.

In the mean time, as it stands, I am banned from a game that I've paid for twice, for doing nothing more than being in the wrong place at the wrong time possibly, all the while the rest of the folks bleat on about how deserved it likely is, without having any knowledge of the situation.
