Set up 1: Have navagators drive and use super cars
Set up 2: Have two people get Helicopter from hoispital while other two go to jet skis closests to Ari and start sniping from the surrounding islands to clear the way for the heli to land.
Set up 3: the decoys attack the bad guys while transporter gets van.
Set up 4: do not bunch up convoy, i always seperate target truck from the protection detail. Make sure one person is keeping an eye on chopper until you get 50 cal.
Set up 5: go through the park on the bike escape and follow path around skate ramp, the drop jump gives you a ton of kinetic boost and less enemies.
Finale: have one person hold all the money and hide in bank, or even 3 people stay at bank while other goes and grabs kuruma for a 100% payout and not a penny lost. Watch a video on this first if you not aware of this technique. money holder should hold down X or the duck key the entire ride to the boat.
Random heists are important, but not mainly for the payout. You need to fill your friends list with people from those heists who communicated and performed well. Then you can start heists yourself with friends.
Make sure your gear is ready before join a heist. Create an outfit with a heavy utility vest, which will prevent half of all damage on a heist setup or finale. Load up on spare armor and snacks.
Learn to fly, and practice flying if you can't do so comfortably. Finish the flight school. The contact missions Defender and Effin' Lasers are good practice too.
Above all, COMMUNICATE. Heists, like the rest of GTAV, are full of inobvious little quirks that should be shared with other players as much as possible. Bombskipping in HLR, fencejumping in Pac Standard, demo supporting the ground team in Prison Break, these are terms heisters can recognize, but only by long experience. If something seems strange or interesting, ask about it.
And, if all else fails, all pride is dead, and all hope is a lie, use an armored kuruma.
Can also sell cars for cash. Some nice tutorials out there on how to get good ones to spawn.

Also pretty much every finale can be done in an easily exploitable way and none of the setups should be too much trouble even with randoms. For example, you can use a Kuruma on both the Pac Standard and Prison Break finales. The former by owning the property next to the bikes and having ther Kuruma parked inside ahead of time, and the latter by leaving the Kuruma just outside the prison then retrieving it once you get in. Then its simply a matter of driving over one of the barriers/fences and making your way in from the back of the prison.
That all said though, the best way to make money still remains being grinding contact missions. They are extremely low risk so you can be sure you are always getting paid. The problem with heists is that they are only efficient if you can actually grind them out rapidly without dying constantly. CEO can pay well but it is extremely high risk when you actually have to sell since if you fail, you lose everything.
Other things you can do: do the dailies for the 28 days if you havent already. It gets you 500,000 upon completion, 100,000 for every 7 days, and 25,000 everyday. That comes out to about 1.6 mil per month. If you do this though, might be a good idea to find another player to do it with so you can just quickly knock them out instead of relying on random players to join a gamemode no one ever plays (i.e. Impromptu or Rally races).
It's not nearly the best way to earn cash, but it's one of the easiest and you don't need to play with friends. Also gives decent RP.
Beyond that, running missions solo is the most reliable way to earn money. Maybe not as fun, but definitely a way to bring in ~100k an hour without being subject to who else is online. Most the missions for 1-2 people can be run solo, on hard, using only pistol. Several others can be done riskfree in an Armored Karuma. Dependng on mission and how easily you can run it, you can quickly earn enough for most expenses.
What missions you do with others, you can start tossing out friend invites to people who aren't completely useless and use that list to help run heists.
2.) Hacker Money
^^^ THIS. With some modificaton
Though on setup 1, I always opt for a bike since you won't be restricted by the dash/etc.
Setup 2: 1 guy get heli on north popo station, one get on southwest popo station. Fly away and other 2 get same choppers (stay out of spawn range and they'll respawn). That's just if you want 4 choppers, pretty cool.
Setup 4: Everybody get in insurg to trip skip, ram the first jeep to knock it into 2nd jeep and sticky the hell out of em blowing everything but the truck up. Carry on.
5: Place stikies where vans spawn just past the PS bank. When you start driving bikes, blow em all up!
Finalie- ^dudes way, only when 1 person get to bikes, blow them up and suicide. Blow bikes again with grenade launcher, then run to garage, follow yellow line taking shortcuts to boat.
Step whatever: Fix another drink and start it over.
If done with a team it's easy to get 1 hour hiests off it over and over. To host time after time (i like to host....don't hate) wait for lester to start talking in the cutscene and restart the game. By the time you get back in invite only and start it, other's should just be getting out of cutscene.
Absolutely not, first of all i dont want to waste $4,000 on a short trip, and ramming the jeep causes it to bunch up the convoy and too many people shooting one car makes it exploded then chain reaction blowing up the target truck. i am sick and effing tired of people playing this mission overly agressive and damaging or destroying the objective. It takes literally 3 seconds to seperate the target from the rest fo the convoy.
Also a bike on set up one is for experts only, it is too easy to crash and die.
Jus gotta know how to do it!
4k$ is well worth it too, otherwise i'm always waiting on some idiot that cant drive, or they go up in kuruma and get blown up etc etc.
To me its the easiest way to solo it, since helis glitches out now 90% of the time.
Plus, boom boom is always good!
or just do blow up II ( be sure you alt+tab to check your pc clock after you gain control of your character) and pile all the cars except the yellow comet together and take comet out of the way first then group the rest together place 1 sticky on each end of pile then get into comet go to the tunnel from the jewelry store heist in the SP carefull go down (be sure you go into the actuall tube/tunnel or else cops will spawn in) and then trigger the sticky bombs >wait out the 3 star wanted level and wait for 10 mins (check pc clock via alt+tab to see if 10mins went by) then proceed to finish mission easy $19k per run
