At bare minimum, $1M will get you the cheapest office with no additions and no warehouse. You won't be able to buy/sell goods without spending another 250k minimum and at minimum 2K for your first crate, but the $1M will get you CEO powers- basically just a permanent VIP.

Thanks for the help. Do you think if I spend the bare minimum, is it possibile to make a profit?

noob question, but how do I became CEO?

lots of additional costs:
- increase in daily maintenance costs. i think getting an office adds about 1K and you pay the personal assistant 300 per day. warehouse add even more. my clean player bonuses no longer cover maintenance costs.
- you'll need warehouse(s). they're all in millions
- have to buy stock to sell which is normal but that is a cost and you do run the risk of losing what you have in your warehouse and while moving it. so the potential is there for massive losses.

additional annoyances:
- can't do the buying and selling in a private session and you can't go passive.
- can't do heists from office?!
- can't select VIP work from the office?!
- since we have an armory in the heist room of every apartment, it is frustrating that they don't work.
- can't get stoned at the office lol.
- nowhere to park your car!!! so you drive to the office, leave your car on the street and go into office. say goodbye to your car if there are annoying people around. there is even garage doors there but R* left them non-operational :/
- still lots of bugs getting repoorted.

probably forgot some more anoyances and costs but ^ is more than enough.

to finish on a more positive note, helipads are brilliant and when i call a heli, it does usually manage to deliver it to the heipad. it is also nice to be able to call a civilian heli from CEO menu.

If you are the CEO, I'm free to help. Employ others as well if you can

Thanks for the info.
I think its evident that being a CEO is not a good way to earn cash. I'll look at other ways :)

Speaking specifically on cash, it can be profitible once you know what you're doing. Running heists will still make you more, but buying/selling crates will net you more money than grinding VIP jobs/challenges or contact missions. I average 100-120k hourly for VIP or contact, not counting rare car sales to the mod shops, but for a small warehouse you can average 250k an hour if you stick to the 2 or 3 crate purchases and wait to sell a full warehouse. I've not done the math for medium or large warehouses yet, but you can get your investment back without too much work so long as you can avoid hostile players during sales.

1.25M for the cheapest office and warehouse.

So in 4 hours you could slightly make a break even if you buy bare minimum. Could be worth looking into now :)

silly question but how do you purchase a warehouse and office?
PROFILE NAME Jun 10, 2016 @ 10:05pm
These "free updates" are a joke. Unless you grind the same crappy heists and missions over and over you probaly dont have enough to buy new vehicles or houses every update. The fact I need to grind shows how horrible this game has become and is a cleary trying tp push people to buy sharkcards.
If you are already rich from grinding, which is boring in a game where i just want to drive around and shoot people and such, then you will have an even easier time making money.
The rich stay rich in gta online, its just as sad as real life in most respects

You can buy an office from the housing website, and once you have an office you can purchase warehouses from the securoserv computer within. It's only accessible while in a public lobby.

This computer is also used to initiate a buy mission for the warehouse of your choice, and sell missions will be initiated from within the warehouse you wish to sell from.

Can you upgrade to a more expensive office and add a safe etc. later on?
